Tell me, if you have some scans about this model in your book, this would be great for me...
Back to this one, waiting is alwain a pain, but at the end, when I see some of my friends that jumped on a restored one, I'm happy to have done it this way...
This patina is just fantastic, as the condition, too!
Once more, Thanks, Francois!
Nicolas
Now that I put my foot in the Omega World, I want to know more and more about this piece!
Much appreciated!
Merci!
Nicolas
Nicolas,
Great catch!
I also like the straps that you fitted into it. One can easily tell your liking for Panerai because of that.
Wear it in great health!
Alex
Yes, I chose the strap to match with the patina of the indexes...LOL
You got me! LOL
Best.
Nicolas
Art,
As I first saw, some years ago, a Pilot Watch, but the original model, not the re edition of the year 1938...
And I fell in love, but never succeeded to get one, so the hunt still goes on on this model...
But this SM 300 was exactly what I was waiting for, even if I didn't know that straight hands existed, and were correct, as an Omega Newbie I am...
The world of Vintage Diving Watches is as appealing as it is dangerous, my friend...LOL
Best.
Nicolas
As I believed that it was a repaint dial and bezel, but they are original!!!
I'm completely crazy about it!
Best.
Nicolas
congrats for the newcomer !
That reminds me I should give my vintage Omegas more wrist time...
Cheers
Jeff
As this is a true Diver!
On the hunt?
Best.

...instead of being the 'Lord of the rings', you could be the 'Alpha and the Omega'.... [sorry!]
Lovely piece Nicolas, congratulations; for those who haven't followed the hunt, why this piece?
Cheers,
pplater.
The production year of this watch is my Birth Year...
As I always hunted a SM 300 for its beauty and its balance, I wanted to get a special one...
I joined the 2 reasons, an original wathc with a beautiful patina, and a more personnal reason...
So, now you understand more and beeter why this watch is so special to me...
Best, my friend.
Nicolas
...certainly as good a theme as any, Nicolas. There were some magnificent watches (and some magnificent cars) around in that year, but that means that you have an awful lot of collecting still to do! ;-)
Good luck in the hunt, and enjoy the Omega.
Cheers,
pplater.
I will make a quick review on this watch, as I don't have knowledge about Omega, but I'm really in love with this SM 300.
The patina is the thing that leads me to take this one, as it adds a lot of soul and charm to the watch.
Look at all the new white indexes and hands...I was surprised by the shape of the case, the bombed glass, the huge presence on the wrist, but these " white dialed " SM300 didn't speak to me, because of the lack of soul...
With this patina, you have depht, soul, life, on the dial...The watches speaks to me, and I'm ready to hear its story...
Where is m Psychiatr? LOLOL
Best!
Nicolas

The funny thing is that if you look at th end of the ad, the words are in French " La nouvelle SM 300 automatique de 1965 " or something like that, but when you lookat the main text, it's written in English...
Thanks a lot for this ad...I love to have all the things around the watch I just got.
Am I right to say that SM 300 were produced in 1961, till 1971?
Do you know how many ( approximatively, of course ) SM 300 were produced?
I read somewhere that these straight hours hands came till 1967, and that after, the Spade hour hands came...
Thanks again, Bill, your answer is much appreciated!
