Lets have a look at the movement :

Ref. 4940 case back

Behind the solid case back, there is a carefully finished movement

Nice details with blued screws.

I would have assumed that it is based on an A. Schild movement, that has been used on other watches with second time zone and alarm. I remember that there was a Maurice Lacroix around which also featured alarm and time zone. Also the crown position was identic.
Does anyone have detail information about the movement?

..interesting to see the photo on the magazine and the information, that the movement base dates back to 1978.
It is just great that we can still revert back to the posts from 10 years ago, isn't it?

...to see the movement as well. I have seen it only once before, when a watchmaker opened it for servicing. That is a while ago....so I thought it is worthwile to make the effort.
