Also it reminds me that I saw a couple of super cool Tourbillons when I visited the Manufacture last week...

This one I a very special one!

As for fragile - honestly, many vintage PW's are much more robust than todays wristwatches!

Today, many Manufactures uses too thin and fragile parts, 100 years ago you used thicker- and materail that lasted longer.

Just look at "Stainless steel" - alloys used during the 50's and 60's were often much better than whats used today.

Don't get me wrong, not all manufactures cuts corners like this.

Some do.... No name mentioned...

BUT, the big problem jumping on vintage PW's is like for all vintage watches - if something breaks....

It is a pain to find spare parts!

Here is one of mine.

Featured in the 1940 US Catalogue.

Notice the GXM marking!

Ah understand now. It's not fragile indeed.

If we get a vintage PW from a well established brand still going strong today such as Vc, Pp, jlc, GP etc I think they can make the parts for us although it will be very expensive. But I am sure they can and will do it

.. some GP-newbie Q's :

1/ Am I right, that Esmeralda is a vintage piece ?
( and is that envouting piece pictured)..

[ or is GP doing a re-edition of a Pocket Watch ?] 2/ if so, were there several/different "Esmeralda(s)"?
- were those identical or unique each.?

- I ask this, as Fx's pic illustrates another type of case finish
and gold "work" !
("barock" or classicistic?..)
-- I deducted end of 19th century...

->> and / or were these just models/ versions of the line ?

3/ Lastly : Any chance, you might show us the dial side,
as well ?

Only thing is if I will be able to answer...!

Esmeralda is a type of Three Golden Bridges Tourbillon movement.

The one in my pic and the one in Fx's is not the same PW (just look at the crown and you will see).

Unfortunately I did not receive any dial shot.

The dial is "plain white" enamel with arabic numbers.

I will return to these PW, ocne I have a change (after Basel)...

.. that your PW with the Esmeralda - Mvmt/ 3 bridges obviously is a different watch,
than Fx's - that was clear to me, from crown & case

- remains the little issue if the Movement of the two watches is/was the same..

Looking forward to reading more from you, about this topic
and the news from Basel..
