Hi all,

I have a WWTC which needs a routine service. It looks like I will have to use an independant.

I imagine I'm not the first GP owner whose watch has required service since Mr Macaluso passed.  I'm hoping someone has been down this path before me and can recommend a Watch repairer qualified to look after a GP (Manufacture movement) . 

I have discovered that my previous contact (Sowind Uk) in London has now gone.

I went to my usual retailer to try and get it serviced but they declined saying parts availability may be difficult or prohibitively expensive as they have no contact for a UK distributor. I'm about 350 miles from the paltry few  GP AD who remain in the UK.

I have emailed GP to advise where to get a maintenance service in the UK and I am waiting for their response.  

In the meantime I'd welcome any suggestions/recommendations

Still no reponse from Contact made via GP website re UK service etc.

Worrying and very disappointing. These aren't cheap watches, and if you cant get them serviced or repaired....

I also have a GP that needs a simple part, but my watch repairman says they will not send the part.  The watch must be returned to GP service center in Geneve,  very disappointing, difficult situation.  I will never buy another GP, although the Classic Elegance petite seconds is inviting.

It is disappointing if GP Swiss doesn't send the simple part to a GP agent, yes. It is normal, if it has to be sent to a repairman, as you say.

It is easy to understand: If your Watch is not perfectly repaired or serviced, would you accuse GP to do bad watches, or the repairman for his bad job?

UK service is for the time being handled by Gucci group Watches & jewllery in London. This a collection point only. All watches will be forwarded to GP manufacture in Switzerland. 4 weeks for estimate, 16 weeks for completion of service.

Mine is back there now for an oil & filter change!
