Just have a chance last week to handle this highly sought after piece of the Mille Miglia GT XL Chrono” Ltd Edition of 2007 pcs in steel, Ref. No : 16/8489 at the Chopard Boutique.

The first piece of MM with the hour-indices "6" & "12" printed on the second-surface of the sapphire crystal, creating a 3D effect.
The date magnifier is decently done, without it swollen above the sapphire crystal.
Very slick pushers.... like some aerodynamics profile.
The LE version (steel) only comes with a solid caseback with the map of Mille Miglia race. The number of this watch was masked.

Signed MM crown with the trademark flanked by the crown protectors.
The signature 1960 Dunlop tire thread patterns strap and the solid ardilon buckle ( pretty macho).
The reverse cyclop...it magnifies very well. The tilting outer-most minute-ring is like a test-track.
Next up is the non limited edition model (16/8459) ....equally stunning with a Black dial and see-through caseback...
Can you spot the differences in the dial layout, compare to the above LE piece?

Nope - I don't like it because
the "floating" numerals are distractiing for a chronograph. The same would hold true for the Chrono One with it's visible date disk and transparent sub-counters.
That is a pity because the Chrono One has one of the best mechanical flyback chronograph movements ever. In terms of pusher feel, break and hand reset dampening, it rivals and maybe beats the Lange Datograph in some aspects.
