Went down to AD to view the new 8500 Mark III a few days back. Saw a scratch on the minute hand of the watch using the loupe. Its about 2mm across the middle of the dauphine hand. Actually without the loupe the scratch can be seen under the light so I skipped the watch.
Today I went to view the WG and YG Fleurier at another AD. There was a smudge on half of the sub second hand at 6 on the YG watch. Not sure is it fingerprint or oil residue. Also can be seen without loupe. If that watch could get the Fleurier seal and went through so many so called 'tests' and not pick up that smudge wonder what QC the watches without the seal go through. Anyway i'm not nit picking, just feel that they can do better be it a S$7,295 watch or one that is S$19k RRP.

That's why I am thinking of getting the Mark 3 3.96 or something with a 1.96 inside. Initially was thinking of a LUC Sport 2000 with the 4.96 but that piece is dearer than a Mark III. Was at the boutique yesterday and viewed the half hunter that Kong showed us a few days ago here. #88..salmon dial, its gorgeous. That piece would be on my wish list. The 9.96 in the Fleurier was nice but doesn't have swan neck? Wonder why it was left out. Maybe it would have been a direct competitor with the 1.96 that's why. The price only 1k difference. But the QC should be better especially with all those polished surfaces. Will wait for the next batch in the meantime.
Wow...Your eye is sharp. I have ordered the Mark III classic but will not collect till next year, I better get into details carefully.
However, having own the tech twist, the finished quality (inside and out) is top notch, no complains so far.
