Blancpain

If there is one piece I would not expect to ever see this, it is the fifty fathoms.
Of course all can happen to anything mechanical but not on a fifty, don't you agree?
Anyway I guess I have to take it in ;-(  and I eat some pain blanc till it returns!

Maybe even a bit too original.

For sure, Blancpain will fix that, but it is really frustrating, to say the least, to see that.

Keep the faith, nonetheless!

I did not capture it (I will try later), I even noticed some strange marks underneath (but in) the 'ceramic bezel' as if the water goes in it.  I did not see that before, but I did.

... led to dislodging both the seconds hand and an index marker. I hope it is still under warranty and there is no damage to the dial with these 'foreign bodies' floating around. Let us know what Blancpain say about this occurrence and how long it takes to repair.

I too find it incredible especially because this piece has never been involved in anything close to ‘tragic’.
This is why I am so disappointed as I considered the FF watches (specially the modern versions) to be amongst the topest sport watches.

Sadly it is just passed warranty coverage!

I will keep you guys posted of all outcomes.

If you bought it from a BP Boutique it shouldn´t be a big deal, if from an AD it depends on your relationship ...

What is about your "ceramic bezel"? There have been some issues with some early production pieces.
It starts with some spots only and gets worse after some time, but it can be changed easily.

Faith - give them a chance to solve the problem, first. Most of the people cook with water only ... and there are humans behind ...

to a FF, I cannot imagine how poor of a dial quality it is for what is pictured to happen, I am astonished!
I bought it from AD, but, it does not matter how they will treat this issue, they 'blancpain' can only worsen my feelings.

As for the bezel, well mine is one of the earlier one, so it might well be again a quality defect!

Arrgh, all of this is cheapo quality gears if you ask me!

but as I said before, give them a chance to solve the problem.

Perfection is something I love a lot, but it is more than rare in the reality.

When it comes to watches I always try to get the "best package" and not only the best watch.
When there are problems you know if you got the best package or not. If not, I try to change at least one part of the package ...

... second, I personally do not consider this a Blancpain typical defect.

I am amazed though...  I have never seen any problems with the FF apart from the known early bezel problem (an easy fix)

I condsider my FF to be the most solidly built watch I own

You say normal daily wear, but please can you tell us more about what happened?

I am sure that Blancpain will repair it to better than new - please let us know how it goes

…But I certainly understand your frustration. I've had a chronic issue with a few sports watches from manufactures many consider the top houses in the business; I expected perfection when I buy from these types of manufactures, but from experience... I now know better. In the end…nothing is perfect but you know who.

Don't let this deter you from the swatch group. Very sad happenings but in life all things must be accepted. Perfection is an ideal that exists in mathematics but has no real life application. Again only the best wishes and a return of your beautiful FF

I have past the time of wasting my time (well still trying not to) and I past the time for pardon unless the parties have no interests.
Those renown companies owe us one thing only, to ensure that we get quality.  Personally I am fed up
of those companies cashing in my money for 1st day on wrist faulty watches, or for hidden defects.  We live a time
where nothing comes cheap and to be cheated no longer comes to us cheap or free, it is again hundreds and thousands.
No, I am not frustrated, I am disgusted! The phenomenon worsen, even some of the considered best are taking liberties!

For sure for a few more of my money, they will sort it out, no doubts, and as soon as done, I will pass on the dream
to who ever still wants to believe!  As for me, well it is one icon less to worry about.

what was the last perfect (without any issues - longterm) you bought? 

We can say that perfection is about how it is handled. What solutions are to a problem... fine by me too…

But it is also how you decide to make something. To me it must correspond to who and what you portrait to be.

 

Up to sometimes ago, my sentiments, my determinations my enthusiasms would push me to blur, to ignore those type of issues but now I am at another stage, I know better what's important to me, what I truly like, need and want.  I still make mistakes (of course), but I learn fast and faster not to again!

Understand your feelings on this one but let's see if they can resolve this in the proper manner.

I have also had issues with some watches in regards to QC etc. and it's the way they handle the matter that's most important. Some back their products and ensure customer satisfaction and some just take your money and want more because nothing is their fault.

I continue to favour certain brands because of the way they deal with problems whilst some are struck out due to poor after sales service.

This is for sure an uncommon site, but I have had similar pieces fall off Rolex pieces in the past, due to very high vibrations, so this is not shocking. However, Blancpain will be able to trace the very high vibration that caused two irrelevant pieces to detach. It would be very interesting to share with us what they will tell you.

In the meantime, keep the faith of the best diver there is!
