I have an opportunity to buy the abovementioned new old stock watch from 2007.   The seller claims that when the watch is put on the timing machine, it runs plus 3 seconds a day and has a good amplitude of 290 degrees.  I can get this watch at 50% of its retail price, but obviously I am worried that I will have probems and will have to send the watch (still under warranty) to Switzerland for service.   The main problem is that I really like the watch, and the price is very attractive.  Please give me your objective opinion.   Would you buy a watch like this under these terms.

If you like it and you can afford it - buy it!

I like that watch very much and with those terms I would take it without hesitation. I would wear it for 18 months and then, with the smallest of reason, would send it for adjusting hoping for a free service.

If you will not take it, PM me the name of the shop and I will pick it up in case I happen to visit that part of the world. I.e. tomorrow I will fly from Europe to different places in Far East.

we generally do not discuss prices here....

If the seller is an AD then the warranty starts from the time you buy it....
so if there are any problems you can sent it for service....
or you can buy it and sent it for service immediately and then you will be sure it works fine....

if you really like the watch and you can afford it buy it....
my advice is that you should buy it because you really want it, not just because the price is attractive...

Regardless of price this is a great watch. At the pricing levels you are alluding to it's a Ronald Reagan.

Thank you all.  For various reasons, I decided against buying the watch.   Although I didn't take your advice, I am deeply grateful for your genuine and thoughtful attempt to help me.     I left a message to dr. kol with information about the seller, as he requested.
