If there was ever a dive watch that could look at home in gold it is this one, really special IMHO.

Yes, RG seems to be a great combo.

And this satin brushed case really … glows in soft light.

Just kidding, what a stunner!
I almost got a steel one 10 years ago, back then the price difference between the 8 day luminor, the new cartier diver and the FF wasnt that big. I really wanted a handwound movement and ended with the panerai but the FF was the best, to this day I still remember the mechanical feel and precision screwing the crown onto the case, pure joy! The cartier was the worst with its fake screws, wobbly bezel and subpar crown.

I really love the presence, robustness and uniqueness of Panerai.

But this BP is a completely different world of watchmaking.

i think the rose gold goes very well with the blue dial, bezel and strap. 

Also in poor light conditions.

This is a great watch!

I like the satin-brushed titanium case very much.

And the the position of the big date window at 6.

Together with the removed applied numerals at 3 and 9 this leads to a great balance on the dial.

I have to admit that I'm still in the honeymoon phase.

It even goes so far that I took the watch with me to the office today, because I don’t want to part with it after a few days at the lake.
I don't normally wear colored gold watches in the office.
I have to make an exception here…

That watch is pure class. It makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I have never really known anything about Blancpain. I will be sure to do some research on The brand.
In the past many years I’ve been somewhat of a Patek fan boy.. And I am sorry for that but I am learning. I have started to explore Lange with a nice annual calendar purchase. Blancpain may be next. Your red gold 50 fathoms is out of this world.

Wear it often and in the best of health my friend.

In my humble opinion you can't avoid brands like ALS or Blancpain and many independents if you value high manufacturing artistry combined with a comprehensible price-performance ratio. 

I have learned that these untrodden paths (where the market is not yet so …hyperventilated and where not adventurers are looking for their investment opportunity) can lead to a great deal of satisfaction for the true watch connoisseur and enthusiast.

I am not an investor in watches whatsoever. I buy watches for the mechanical artistry and pure visual pleasure.
My brother likes boats and enjoys buying them. I always make this comparison. I spend almost as much on a few watches as he does on a boat yet I use the watches hundreds of days per year and he uses his boat 12 or 13 weekends a year.
To me there is more value in watches. But to each his own. I never judge anyone based on what pleases them or moves them. To each his own and I respect that.

I was at my authorized dealer yesterday speaking with him and looking at watches. The next two brands I am going to research are Blancpain and Ulysses Nardin
This conversation jogged my memory. My late mother wore a Blancpain for many years. My father however only wore Patek since the 60s. He still wear one today at 94 yrs. it is actually off to service right now.

Watches are just “things” but can be an essential part of your life. I cannot imagine leaving the house without a watch on my wrist.

So it is essential for me to just wear what I love and like and not what others might see as a good investment.

UN is also a very fascinating manufacturer. I hope to find the “perfect” UN for me one day. When I am able to see it live and test it on my wrist I will know for sure.
