I am really shocked at that lack of enthusiasm surrounding the new products that will be introduced at the upcoming SIHH.
In past years this site has been abuzz with future product offerings, real and imagined. Is it a lack of interest, or some other
reason. Dr. Mao has been completely absent from comment.

SIHH 2013 officially begins on Monday the 21st.  So we have not yet had the opportunity to see what the new products are.

Please remember, here at PuristSPro (and of course starting with thePuristS before), we have always respected and upheld all brand embargoes regarding the release of information.  That will not change on this website.

Perhaps AP is being more restrictive these days on what information is given out ahead of time.  If you rewind a few months, the Schumacher Offshore was all over the net before being "officially" launched.

Quite frankly, we do not have information to share at this time, hence the reason you do not see Dr. Mao commenting yet.  I know in years past there have been times when we had information we were allowed to share, and we did so accordingly.  Rest assured Thomas will give us his tremendous insight and thoughts when the time comes.

In the meantime, I invite your participation in any of the threads we have had the past few months on this topic.  We reviewed some older Offshores and had a nice discussion, as 2013 marks the 20th Anniversary of the Offshore line.  In fact, just two threads below this one, you will see "One week until SIHH 2013" started yesterday.   Since we don't yet know details on possible new models, why not offer your own thoughts in that thread?

I will be patient, plenty of really great things to come from AP even if we have to wait another year. I will never catch up on my want list anyway.

Can someone explain me why there would be a difference between this year and the others.

Each brand more or less introduced already a watch as "Pre-SIHH". AP did it.

Then, there is an embargo till the beginning of the Fair: as usual.

I do like the new releases, however, I'm dissapointed with the discontinueing of the Diver Forged Carbon.

We've always been respectful of product embargoes on PPro and perhaps this year other folks have been also.  Dr. Mao is definitely around and will actively be participating in various threads, I'm sure.

the new introductions at this years SIHH, I am frankly disappointed with the offerings. The 20th anniversary of the ROO was supposed to be

something really special and truthfully all AP is doing is cannibalizing their line. The ceramic Diver is great, but only for the boutique, what are they

thinking? The one piece, the Diver that is "affordable" is limited to boutique status! The other "affordable" watch being the ceramic Offshore,

which again is terrific, but simply a material change, is getting kind of old. The Offshore grand complications are marvelous, but out of bounds

as far as price is concerned. Maybe I am missing something, but what has been somewhat affordable in the past is quickly moving into the 1% category.

AP is by far my favorite brand, but I feel they are running on empty in design & creativity and have lost their audacity!
