The Jules Audemars "DOUBLE X" Chronograph harkens back to the Golden Age or the pioneers or aviation. Measuring forty-eight mm in diameter, the "DOUBLE X" is the largest wristwatch ever designed by Audemars Piguet and comes with a fiber and Kevlar strap that combines strength and resiliency with stylish design. Exceptionally wide at twenty-five mm, the strap is crafted with the same precision and care as a piece of silver plate, and is enhanced with an AP monogrammed buckle designed especially for this model.
The large-size Arabic numerals on the white dial of the "DOUBLE X" Chronograph make it easier to see the time at first glance. To further reinforce the theme, the numbers and hands come with luminous lime-green coating so that they can be easily seen in the dark.
Audemars Piguet's craftsmen wanted the hands of this watch to look like the propellers of early aircraft, so they manufactured the specific tools needed to achieve this result. As is always the case with an Audemars Piguet timepiece, the "DOUBLE X" Chronograph represents cutting edge technology and fashion-forward design. The case of the "DOUBLE X" Chronograph is made of titanium and platinum and weighs eighty-five grams. The middle case and the satin-finished titanium back weigh fifty grams, while the polished platinum bezel is thirty-five grams. Its low weight (a volume weight of 4.5, almost half that of steel) and its high melting point (nearly 1,800 C) make it the basic metal for many fuselages. It is water resistant to two atmospheres, and has two push-piece caps. The manufacture of this case took more than seven months to complete. Its mechanical strength and thermal resistance make the "DOUBLE X" Jules Audemars Chronograph ready to withstand the toughest treatment.
With a rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour, the "DOUBLE X" Chronograph permits measurements to within one-fifth of a second. Winding is performed in both directions by a twenty-one carat gold oscillating weight mounted on ball bearings. The fifty-four jewel movement has a thirty-eight hour power reserve. The Chronograph function comprises a large hand and a thirty-minute counter at nine o'clock, while the small second hand is at nine o'clock. The stop, and start push piece is at two o'clock and the zero reset at four o'clock.
The "DOUBLE X" Chronograph will be worn by Arnold Schwarzenegger in his upcoming film entitled The 6th Day, released worldwide in the fall of 2000.

The XX has always been a personal favorite.
Certainly I have dreamed about it many times. I would likely set it up with the white dial / black subdials, but the green is so military looking it is perfect. I look forward to additional photos and congratulate you on an amazing acquisition.

the watch looks alot better in person than pics for sure..............i am really impressed with "coolness " factor. Its very clean looking , not detail overkill like the Offshores these days........................this is pure.
just about fits my chicken wrist..............i need another inch on my wrist for sure !
