(mode's delete if not approptiate)
but i never ever heard that there was another RO prior to AP and designed by GG for Boluva
is this true or is it a knockoff
as per the description of the seller it was the original RO before AP and claims rarety
for me it sounds very odd but i would love to here comments
I'm very intrigued as well, would love for more knowledgeable Purists to weigh in.

Bulova did make these & this one looks genuine. I understand they were produced in the 80's & 90's, not the '70's & not preceding AP. They normally hang around on FS forums for a little while before being sold. Their niche following has strenghtened since the introduction of the 15300, mainly due to it having a second hand & the 15202 has not.
The 36mm size on this one is correct but the asking price is laughable. These normally go for a couple of hundred (sterling), not thousands- in any currency.

since it clearly should have been (to a non-intellectual property lawyer) a violation of some sort of intellectual property protection AP had/has on the RO design.
Thanks for sharing that information, Tony, at the very least the description is misleading.
1. the model could not have been called "Royal Oak" (trademarked for watches by AP)
2. It could not have preceeded the RO by AP - the ETA 2892 was introduced in the 1970's; the RO with cal. 2121 was introduced in 1972.
The AP Royal Oak was conceived specifically "on commission" by Gerald Genta by AP, so the statement "This is the original Royal Oak that Gerald Genta concepted for Bulova in the 70's before Audemars. The grand-daddy of all oaks' " is at best misleading, at worst fraudulent.
Cheers,

googled the brand and discovered that it is indeed selling in the hundreds, not thousands, as mentioned by Tony.
The retail price is even more laughable.
The same seller also listed one as sold here: http://market.watchprosite.com/show-forumpost.classic/fi-712/pi-3800391/ti-606576/s-0/
Hope no one is tricked by him.
