Hi AP fans, Thanks to sales manager Vincent at the boutique at IFC, I got to see these 2 amazing pieces of ROs !

The openworked Ref. 16204XT.OO.1240XT.01 (caliber 7124)  is made of titanium (with Bulk Metallic Glass or “BMG” accents) and is such a HEAVY hitter, yet SO SO LIGHT !    The workmanship is very fine under a loupe.  The color is also interesting because it is just a bit more shiny.  To me, only a cognoscenti with a sharp eye 👁️ can tell the difference of this metal. Subtle yet so LOUD at 39mm with 8.1mm thickness.

A similar piece is the perpetual calendar Ref. 26685XT.OO.1320.XT.01 with movement caliber 7139 (Titanium with Bulk Metallic Glass or “BMG” accents).  This is a WOW piece with 41mm size and 9.5mm thickness.  The moon looks very realistic. The hands for the three sub-dials are made of pink gold to enhance legibility.

Both pieces are water resistance to 50m with no screw-down crowns.  As a lucky owner, would you swim with these pieces  ?  😂

What are your thoughts 🤔 🤔 on them ?

I like the titanium/BMG quite a lot even though I don't consider myself an open-worked dial lover.

I would say I'm attracted to the combination of materials of this watch.

You are right that it appears "bright," although it also seems easily legible. 

Again, while I wouldn't say open-worked dials are my thing, I do think AP (and VC) do them very well.

My only objection to the PC (which can be said for most PCs) is it seems hard to read.

I prefer the regular double balance openworked models by a good bit over this one.

For perpetual calendar, similar thought as M4.  I prefer a solid dial for legibility.  I still have trouble reading the small indicators with my eyes, so a PC is not a watch that typically interests me anyways (but I still love good photos of them!).

As for BMG on APs, I think it looks fabulous on certain models.  Like the Jumbo with dark red dial, that one was fantastic.  A bit too shiny on these open dials, IMO.

Although the RO makes one of my favorite PCs, I don’t like the open worked treatment. As stated above it does appear a bit hard to read. Having said this the BMG looks like a really cool material for the case.
