Time to slim down
I love my Diver, but have never been a big fan of the original wide strap. I've always loved the beautifully tapered profiles of the older 42mm models.
So I'm going to give these new shoes a try. My first impressions are very positive, I feel the difference and I like it much more now.

AP rubber straps are incredible when brand new. They get a bit shiny on edges as they wear.

I'm not sure but it looks like these to straps have different textures. Let's see how this new one ages.

When i change the black for blue, than my kind of AP RO diver is there.
The blue hints a bit to turquoise and that is just perfect.

I didn’t know AP did a tapered strap on a tang buckle. Always liked the tapered straps but the original tang buckle was a source of discomfort for me.
Yes, all the new 42mm ROOs come with tapered straps on pin buckles (apart from Divers, no taper here)
I agree, previous deployant was not very comfortable, although I do prefer how it looks.

I would ask at the boutique if I were you. With so many editions out there, there should be something for you
The rose buckle shouldn't be an issue, only the price (I don't think it'll be cheap).
For there strap, I don't know what's in the catalogue. This one below could be an option, but you have to try to see if it really matches the colors of your watch.

First feelings are great. I've actually been thinking of letting this beauty go because of my "issue" with the wide strap, I simply don't like it. But now it will have a second chance 😜

You should give Rubber B a try!
The rubber B swim skin “alligator” straps are fantastic. Great fitment on the watch and I believe the quality of the material justifies the near OEM price tag.
I've seen them online and they look great
But for the Diver, I prefer the "simple" rubber one. If I had any other ROO, I would definitely give it a try.
