Wonderful creation by the brand.  Good mix of materials and details.  Those old days were really something - EoD, JPM, Survivor, Alinghi... I wonder if we will encounter another run like that.

some complained they were too many limited editions but for me it was great as you got so many cool pieces to be created. A real credit goes to Octavio Garcia, his team and Upper Management at the time for creating an environment where they could push the limits of what AP could do, it was daring, bold and exciting and satisfied different collectors around the world with very low production run limited editions. But like all things, change is inevitable and I am sad to think maybe that unique synthesis will be hard to create again. I hope I am proved wrong a million times.

I never owned one, tried many on though.  Maybe I’m having a bit of a “retro” moment as I’ve been wondering if they would have the same appeal if one could produce them now (or a similar design) in a smaller (38mm/40mm) size.

Sad not to see as many F1 oriented pieces lately?

It was a special time because I felt they made truly "customised" limited editions with some specially molded parts as opposed to simply changing colours on a dial or pusher or crown etc. And they were attainable in terms of price range.

Anyway as posted earlier - I'm enjoying my Neo-vintage one!
