Just need to share with you a recent Audemars Piguet purchase of the Royal Oak Offshore 44 MM Titanium and Ceramic, I got through a friend in New York. it came completely defective with the power reserve not working the watch stops suddenly even after winding for more than 30 times and the Chromo does not work and stops after pushing the button. It’s disappointing as I paid top dollar for this watch … Any feedback of similar experience.
That is not a common occurance and sorry you had to experience this.
If it was purchased new from an authorized dealer I am sure AP will take care of it immediately.
If it was purchased pre-owned or through non authorized channels, contact the seller immediately and get a refund.
Something so catastrophic can be as simple as extreme magnitization (an easy fix though rare) or a sign of very serious problems that you just wont want to have the headache of trying to fix.
My not so humble opinion as an AP fan and owner of several decades.

My Bad Experience
Thanks Thomas, Its was purchased through a not-so-close friend in New York and had the warranty card with it. I have send it to AP Ottawa Service Centre .. Its just disappointing. I'm trying to trace the retail shop !
Sorry for your troubles. Here is what I think is the issue:
The "movement module". I have a friend with a 44mm Offshore, same caliber as yours (and mine, I have the same Offshore as you on right now as I type!) and it encountered this issue. The watch worked fine for months, and then began to stop running when off the wrist. Here in the US, the AP Service Center in Clearwater, Florida sends a "return kit" to their clients. They FedEx a parcel with full instructions on how to return it, and even include an insured return shipping label. It could not be any easier. I think he said the watch was back on the wrist in less than 3 weeks, with the defective part replaced.
I understand how disappointing it is (believe me, I do, I have needed to utilize factory service for 3 different watches in the past year +). The good news is no brand does it better than Audemars Piguet. You are in good hands and they will make it right.

My Bad Experience - Solution
Just an update, The watch is with Swiss Service Center in Ottawa, The power reserve is defective and the Chrono also. looks like a lot of ROO 44 MM are having some problems with the Chrono. Not sure how it passed the QC of AP. in any case its annoying to wait for 14 days to get the watch back as the service center is congested.
Same experience with a different issue on a new watch. The worst thing is that even though they are aware of the
Problems with their production QC, they are in no rush to correct the problem. Waited 3.5 months for the repair on a 2 month old watch. Very disappointing service

It used to be one of the top three Tier 1 iconic watches with Patek and Rolex as most recognized. I wrote to AP after sale in Clearwater. FL The lady really apologized and he directed me to the right service centre. I had a Rolex Daytona since 2003, running like a clock work as they say with no service so far.
