After seeing the 25th anniversary editions - namely the tourbys and the polarising views of AP fans , I am very content with my personal favourite AP pieces that struck the perfect balance between pushing the envelope for design and materials whilst keeping the fundamental style concepts that make up the DNA of an AP ROO in my humble opinion .
The Jarno Trulli is particularly nice with its forged carbon case, cermet bezel, titanium pushers and its little red touches. What else? Nothing, it’s perfect
The new models are not yet being correctly understood for what they are, and why they are.

People are replying like SIHH has just ended and this is everything. It would be nice to allow some time for things to play out, but of course we live in a world of instant judgement.
As a Long time ap fan, I am certainly hoping that the other releases for sihh2018 will redeem itself . I don’t want to drink the “AP - koolaid” and hold back my sentiments when I see something I don’t like or if something unsatisfactory has occurred in terms of service which I’ve experienced from ap in the past but I am the first to applaud them too when they make good . Let’s hope that there are glowing highlights to emerge out from AP next year . They have set the bar high so far so they can be the victim of their own success.
We welcome all opinions here. If everyone criticizes AP, I personally won't lose any sleep. But the fact is, many comments are judging the Anniversary Tourbillon as if it is the new regular collection Offshore line, or how the future of all Offshores will look. How many who replied would spend 100, 200K+ on this sort of watch anyways? Not that we can't share opinions the same as those who will buy it, but it is not a piece destined for the average AP owner. It becomes amusing to me, people in general rush to opinions, rush to "get on record"... this is current society. And in the end, we will see many flip flop, like on the Montoya, the Patek Pilot when it came out a few years ago, etc.
Totally agreed that probably the most of us wouldn’t buy one of these ultra TOP of the line AP concept LEs whether we love them or not . The ones we are really looking forward to are the regular production pieces and the more accessible LEs like the GP, Schumacher, or the QE2 etc which are all fantastic pieces and probably Less outlandish. I say again - I actually really love the new case and pushers of the 25th anniversary Tourbillon and I hope perhaps they incorporate into next years SiHH 2018 production models .. #fingerscrossed
It is fun to think back to those years... we were treated to a wicked new Offshore LE on a regular basis.

Alinghi Polaris, Juan Pablo Montoya, Rubens Barrichello II, Alinghi Team Chronograph, Survivor, Grand Prix, LeBron, Schumacher... it was a continuous ride. Yet, some complained "why so many LEs", and now the opposite "when is AP going to do something cool again with the Offshore". So here we are, 25 years of the Royal Oak Offshore. I think 2018 is going to be very exciting for Audemars Piguet fans.
