Who goes lower: more and detailed pics of my A-3x

As promised here are more pictures of my 5402ST Serial A-3x.
I purchased it indirectly from the first owner, a gentleman from Berne / Switzerland. It was at the AP workshop for a movement overhaul. They also did an incredible job in giving edges, shine and matte surfaces back to the case (see two pictures below "before" and "after"). Dial, hands etc. original and un-touched. And the cream on the cake from stay at the AP spa is the very nice Certificate of Authenticity confirming the correct movement number for the case.
This one will spend - for obvious reasons - quite some time in the bank safe, but my A-81x and my black A-12xx "Karl" get a bit more airtime.

It really makes me miss my C-series 5402. Those early Jumbos are so much more special than any of the later ones! Enjoy it in good health!

and the refinishing of the case is top notch! All the angles, bevels, surfaces looking brand new... awesome!
Oh, I do enjoy it a lot....!
This is more of a practical thing: 1) it has to share the wrist time with many other watches I own and given I only have two wrists but normally only wear one watch there is a natural limitation and 2) I have my A-81x which is more of a "daily wearer" so I take extra careful with my A-3x

how I got hold of it
It was on "the open market" (very briefly). Why I got it: I was fast, local proximity to the seller/intermediary, personal viewing and subsequent personal pick-up. A recepie that helped me in the past with a few other rare birds like my Vacheron 222 Jumbo, my Speedmaster A.C.P., and others.
I would wear it all the time.
But I am not by any means a watch collector. I'm an enthusiast.
Nonetheless, to each his own. How great to own such a nice Royal Oak.
