since it clearly should have been (to a non-intellectual property lawyer) a violation of some sort of intellectual property protection AP had/has on the RO design.
Thanks for sharing that information, Tony, at the very least the description is misleading.
1. the model could not have been called "Royal Oak" (trademarked for watches by AP)
2. It could not have preceeded the RO by AP - the ETA 2892 was introduced in the 1970's; the RO with cal. 2121 was introduced in 1972.
The AP Royal Oak was conceived specifically "on commission" by Gerald Genta by AP, so the statement "This is the original Royal Oak that Gerald Genta concepted for Bulova in the 70's before Audemars. The grand-daddy of all oaks' " is at best misleading, at worst fraudulent.
