Jaeger Lecoultre Triple Date Moonphase 150th Anniversary.
For the 150th Anniversary of the brand, Jaeger Lecoultre decided to release one of the most elegant Watch from their past, the Triple Date moonphase. A Watch which was born in the 40ies, and which has been resurrected in... 1983, along with a few others, like a re edition of the Jacques Lecoultre 1949 Triple Date Moonphase with a slightly different case, though, and an Atmos.
Here the rectangular version ( Credit picture: Liveauctioneers ), limited to 600 pièces.
The Atmos 150th ( Credit picture: Antiquorum ), limited to 3000 pièces.
You will find the superb godron case, the not less elegant teardrop lugs, the beautiful dial, an example of balance.
I could take two pictures of this Watch which belongs to the Heritage Gallery collection.
I was told that those which were issued for the Anniversary had their case back engraved, bearing the mention of this event. This one doesn't have its case back engraved, as I could notice by myself. It houses the Cal 494 ( Vintage movement ).

Love the old JLCs and VCs with the teardrop lugs
Until a few years ago, these were all a tremendous bargain
The JLCs probably still are a bargain (not sure since I don't follow the vintage market much)
The VCs much less so now

I love the rectangular in gold. It's not a reverso is it? I'm not sure I've ever seen a
JLC rectangular that's not a reverso. I love the round outside date dial. I've seen this on some reversos, and they're fantastic, especially with the red hand.

No, not a Reverso. There were several rectangular watches from the brand which were not
Reverso.

Always love triple dates...
especially with moonphase apertures.
The soon-to-be-released Meteorite dial is interesting, but not "classic." If the meteorite dial is a LE piece (100 in rose, 200 in steel), that would generate more interest, I think.
I hope (know) JLC has some other good options for SIHH 2015.
