took me about 2 months on the wait list but i just got delivery of my LAB 2 !

there are a ton of pics out there so i am just adding a few here .. 

the crown's structure deserves a close up... incredible detail on the work

i would like to mention the buckle mechanism - first off, the instructions on its use are useless in the manual so don't even bother ! But fortunately the staff at the boutique are incredible ... there is lock / unlock system and then you have 3 options: you can rotate the strap around the "gear" 180 degrees to set it either in the long or short position ( i actually need the long when using the leather strap and the short for the rubber strap ) and then there is an angled position that allows you to pop the buckle out ... you have to remember to lock the buckle back in position once you have positioned it properly so as to not damage the rotating pivots ...

pretty fabulous piece ... received rave reviews when i was out at a dinner and it felt great in the pool and jacuzzi !

oh, i was pondering whether i should just get a second buckle as a spare since prices seem to be sky rocketing for replacement straps and buckles recently so i asked them to check the current cost : are you ready for this .... ??

USD$3,000+change ....

that's about 5% of the cost of the watch !

I understand that it's like the veryon where jlc stumps up a sizeable sum to get it on the market but on the other end, they are able to experiment on new design and technology.

If it was other brands that had this on the market, I would dare put a wager that it would be priced far more than what jlc has done.

have been wearing the leather strap in the evenings and rubber during the day .. went swimming , had the chrono on - no issues - 

buckle mechanism is smooth and very easy to operate.

it been gaining about 4 secs a day ... its either on the wrist or resting face up.

doesn't have a scratch on it which is impressive specially for the buckle..  the red coating on the buckle is getting a little blackish though probably from rubbing against the leather strap when i swap out the straps .. wonder if that can be cleaned off every year or so by the service center - if not, it's gonna end up looking pretty nasty in a few years !

the weight is exceeding comfortable for a timepiece of this size and the fine adjustment of the strap as well as the pivot ends on the bezel ensures it sits perfectly on the wrist 

all in all, everything is up to my expectations from this piece.

just a quick update..

the black logo on the buckle "broke" - i had thought it was printed onto the metal but there is actually a grove and the logo is inlaid into it ... the tail of of logo popped off and there was a "hole" where it had been imbedded so i took it to the boutique and they sent it back to the factory .... JLC replaced the entire buckle for me ( it took about 2 months )
