Help with this JLC
Hello, I've been a regular stalker on this forums, and thank you all for your very invaluable posts!
A friend recently purchased this beautiful Perpetual Calendar in Auction, and I am very very curious as to what the middle dial is to show. And whether anyone has any comments about it. I've definitely not seen anything like this before, though I have seen some very unique JLCs in this years Christies and Sothebys, just wish I had more money..
I realise the year still says 1998, it takes ages to update it to 2012...!
This is an Odysseus Perpetual Claendar and the centre of the dial shows
The Red Zone, which means the moment you have to avoid setting the date of your perpetual ccalendar in order to avoid ruining the delicate movement ( basically 9 PM / 3 AM ).

Do you know why the centre dial moves though? Seems to not be a normal thing..

This is a VERY easy watch to set and to bring up to current date...
There should be a corrector on the side of the case at 8 o'clock. set the time, then take a tooth pick (this way you won't risk scratching the case) and depress until you come to 2012. I had one that was 2 years back, and it took me only about 2 minutes to bring it to the current date.

Thanks for the reply, strangely enough there wasn't a quick set as is accustomed to normal Perpetuals...
We did look, and the auctioneer did have a look too.

Anyways it's a really beautiful watch... Though it doesn't suit me.
OK, so, since no corrector...
everything is set via the crown - the way the Kurt Klaus module was originally developed for IWC (and which is the only module AFAIK that JLC borrows).
