yes, i have heard that before, by a friend who is also into watches, to avoid the hassel of having to explain the details...
I'm sure classic models like the reverso could easily pass off as $99

i remember urging a young man once to get a nice watch someday. he promptly said, i have a giorgio armani watch; what is that you're wearing?
i said, a jaeger.
his scornful reply was, yeah, jaegermeister.
see...i just wish i would sometimes run into a person who appreciated decent watches. stealth is great, but sharing coming interests is even better!
