It is an excellent part of JLC genius.

The Sphero is a brilliant and understated demonstration of JLC mastery, indeed.

-The best Idea of JLC this last ten years, or let's say the most remarkable one was the Gyrotourbillon. It is here different but we find somthing in the idea. A very impressive Tourbillon with this magnificent spring like a deck watch. And the finish is this time at the level you can wait for such a piece. 14mm for a complex tourbillon with such a spring, It is... thin !

-The best Case: I was moaning against some JLC designs in the past, lacking of inspiration, the Duomètre has the best one at JLC imho. Very classy, not too simple, a beautiful piece !

-The best Dial: some dials were a bit cold at JLC, this grained dial is very nice. I like the layout too. Perfect

-The price at 200k... even that I think it is not exagerated for such a piece.

Best person to defend it in front of the purist court , it is a fantastic piece ! JLC did great this year (along with AP).

So you can imagine my impatience to discover a new member of this family.

I often said it, but the Duometre-whatever is the model- is a brilliant watch, with a nice dial, a great case ( a tad thinner would be great, but the movement is an obstacle to thinness ) and a superb movement ( which I would appreciate even better finished on the former versions, HM à Grande Sonnerie apart, of course ).

My definition of a fine watch, in sum.

But this one put the bar very high...

Can't wait to see the next offer... As you see, a Duometre Fan is always impatient.

Fingers crossed for a more " affordable " next one... A Duometre Fan is also a big dreamer.

First of all, thanks a lot for this comprehensive review. The watch deserves it.

It is a very clever use of the dualwing concept.

Actually, I was never convinced by the stop tourbillon by Lange due to the fact that the balance wheel needs several seconds to get a normal behaviour. This can have a negative effect on accuracy.

The Tourbillon is really hypnotizing for two reasons: the two axis and the shape of the spiral. It is a true 3D tourbillon.

But at the end, the most impressive point about this superlative watch is its wearability. Its size, its thickness remain very reasonable which is not that usual in this world of complex tourbillons.

this is such a fine timepiece I would find it hard to believe another offer at sihh could top it in terms of excitement. this really does act as a wonderful flagship to JLC's high end line. that said, I hope some folks sell their other Duometres to buy this... as this one will never be in my range, but I could imagine owning a Duometre QL or Chrono at some point

The Q.L or the Chrono are far from being bad choices, Pat.

The Sphero is the same and a different Duometre, like a member of the same family.

These Duometres are driving me crazy!

.. This family of Duometres has got another jewel:
- technically, aesthetically - but also on an emotional significance level, it appears .

Your review again lets one feel that spirit, (which always mesmerizes me), but also the DNA of the piece.
as well as its intellectuality. - Truly to appreciate, to read and to enjoyingly digest ..
( Took me a while to regain some speech, as well)

Specifically also liked the reference and context to the noble 'reste de la famille':
Also touching from where it comes, its 'raison d'être' , but further so nicely highlighted some subtleties ( eg. of the metal- differences) .

Equally enjoyed a lot also the introduction, not to belittle the pictures, and thoughts,
of course .
(BTW: 'cold' vs 'warm' appeal - how well phrased, pinpointing to our sensual pleasures for some
of our sentiments .. liked that !)

Without being pathetic: quite something, 'le truc' - indeed !
Must have been even more "something", in the real , I trust ..
)

What a pleasure to read, being aided to understand and guided to look

The very good thing with this STratoSphero Tourbillon is that it also helps to better appreciate the other ( more affordable ) offers from the Duometre Family, and man, I can really say that I miss my Duo à Chronographe very much!

When I saw the Sphero, I immediately thought about my beloved Duometre...

Four sure, the Q.L is another very tempting piece and I do understand the efforts you will make to get one.
