JlC Master Compressor Memovox operation of compression keys

Would anyone know if the compression key on the crown used for starting and stopping the alarm can be turned to the closed position when the crown is pulled out ? It occurs to me that this would be desirable so that you are able to wear the watch in its fully water resistant state with the alarm disengaged.
Many thanks for that Nicolas. I guess if you don't want the alarm to sound at all at any particular time, you just leave the crown pulled out with the compression key in the open position.
Have you experienced the chime loosly connecting with the gong for about 30 minutes after the alarm has sounded?
Thank you once again Nicolas for your time and expertise.
The MC is new to me-previously having previously focussed only on Reversos (i have 4 of them).
i do like the 41.5mm case on the memovox-although I am awaiting the delivery of an IWC Pilot (UTC) with a 44 mm case which should be interesting-albeit an ETA movement re-engineered (I think) by IWC.
