Hello all - as promised, here is a complete introduction to the newest watch in our collection. This wasn't a planned addition; somewhat like the last one, it came as a surprise. Our local AD received this watch on consignment, and sent us an email thinking we might be interested. So, without further ado, here it is.
First, here is the outer box, proclaiming Le Coultre's Record of
Achievement. Not exactly a subtle proclamation, ending with "The Most
Exceptional Watches & Clocks In All The World". Note at the bottom:
"Product of Vacheron & Constantin LeCoultre Watches, Inc."
Here, we have the
outer and inner boxes, side by side. The outer box
is made of cardboard, while the inner box is wood that is wrapped with leather. As
you can see, the inner box looks nearly like new from the outside, as
shiny as the day it was in the show room.
A closer look at the inner box.
All of the packaging, with the
certificate of particulars and guarantee.
Yes, that was the
price tag on the last photo, and and yes, it was listed at $350 US!!!
Here is a shot of the
watch with the strap. We are going to change the
strap, since we find the shiny black leather to be a bit too much.
This shot gives an indication of how
pristine this piece is, even though it is from the 1950's.
Here is the
case back, showing the details and marking of both LeCoultre and Vacheron Constantin.
The logo on the
crown, along with a profile of the domed crystal

And finally, we get to see the obligatory
wrist shot!
