As for the Attorney at law incomes, this is an urban legend, believe me.
Best,
Nicolas.
I have once met a guy who actually owned a Minute Repeater. He was an attorney from Paris, France...

I like the cleaner look offered by smaller sub-dials, the new moonphase and that it is available in steel.
Could it be my first 'dress watch'? I really look forward to see one in real.
My only wish is an addition of a sweep second, to add a little life to this charming piece.
Thanks for introducing it Nicolas.
Best,
Goh
A Perpetual Calendar is something which can be considered as immutable, while a second hand gives life, as you said it.
Paradox, or complement?
That is a good question!
Best,
Nicolas.
Nico for a grea review and recap. Great writeup and thought provoking as always!
With all the news and excitement around the DSA release, I totally missed this piece at the BHB event in January. I actually had to go back to my photos to see if I caught this piece with my photos.
They had the rose gold version at the event and not being a fan of RG, I totally missed it.
Recently, I have been contemplating a change in direction and these "higher" complications have been intriguing. I really like this version of the Perpetual and I love the 8day movement (190 is my favorite). The new version is cleaner and more elegant. However, to mirror others', the PR and day/night are dwarfed by the open dial. However, I found the previous version too busy. And maybe JLC is onto something with the downsizing of the case...
Very aggressively priced. What should I do...sigh...
Thank you!
Believe me, it is better to have this kind of dilemmas, rather to not have any!
The problem is that there are many tempting JLC watches, this year: The TT DSAs, TT 1931s, The MUT Moon 39, this PC, the Duometre à Q.L in WG which is also a true beast, etc ...
Go by order of priority: Which watch is more urgent to make a decision on?
The TT DSAs, for sure!
Then, take your time, go and see the others several times, and your heart will tell you if it is a true love or a short lived one.
Best ( of luck ).
Nicolas.
I have a really fond memory of the 8 days perp.
I remember watching the television with my dad a few years back,a report on that year s SIHH came up,the year the Reverso Squadra was introduced(2006/7???).A big wow for me....it started the whole madness....I started researching the Squadra and getting to know about JLC.
I went to the boutique in London and got given that year s catalogue;I gave up on the squadra pretty soon and only one line of JLC seduced me:master control.
Everyone was telling me that the REAL JLC is only the Reverso.....naaah I said, even though I just started getting interested in watches(only a few days...)I realized the greatness of JLC,,,,now people start realizing but back then JLC was only Reverso for the majority.
Out of the Master control line 3 watches made me fall in love:Grande Reveil,Tourbillon and Master 8 Days Perp.So I clearly know the watch very well as I tried all of them on....Its part of the reason why I love JLC so much and watches in general.
Thats why the new version do not do much for me,,,doesn t compare with the old one...power reserve and day/night are not nice and the writing like Blomman said is out of place.....That first pic of the thread is a killer for me....
The 8 days came back a few years after...in its skeletonized version...at this point I knew a bit more about watches....enough to know how special it is..still hounting me....I remember playing with your Pt Nicolas(BTW why Nico????Why?).....and falling in love with the anniversary RG....
Thank you for the post Nicolas...great stuff.

When you're obsessed, you can't have interest on another version, even if interesting.
I do hear what you say about the Power Reserve and Day / Night indicator: They are minimalist, simpler than on the former version, some will like them, others will prefer the previous one.
As for why I let my perpetual skeleton go, that is a story I can't reveal, for the moment, but be sure you'll hear it, in a close future.
Let's say, that some months ago ( Damn, 6 months ago! ), I had a trade offer I could not refuse.
Best,
Nicolas.
but out of the 2 version I still prefear the original 8 days.....
You made that decision....I am sure for the better...you enjoyed though...
As for me..I made a decision yesterday.......
Mo
When will you get it?
Best,
Nicolas.
as soon as delivered I suppose.......hope JLC is not like AP hi hi!!!
I feel good my friend...

There are worse fears, my friends.
SS or RG?
Best,
Nicolas.

I didn't see you this way, my friend.
SS would be more polyvalent, while the RG is maybe dressier.
Now, I see what you mean.
Best,
Nicolas.
More sober, cleaner, on a classic complication from Belle Horlogerie...
Thanks for your input, Damien.
Best,
Nicolas.
What kind of hands would you have preferred, on this Perpetual?
Baton?
Don't you think it would have been too " common " for this watch?
The Dauphine give a classic touch, which works well with the spirit of the watch, I think.
But nows, I'm curious to hear your opinion.
Thanks for your input!
Best,
Nicolas.

But this year is even more problematic, as they came with many tempting AND quite affordable watches.
We are almost at the ponit to wish that next year, JLC will break the rule and that we'll see:
- Unaffordalbe pieces for the mre mortals we are.
- A consolidation year.
We have to find out our breath!
Best, Rahul.
