And I suspect many Purists will love these changes.
Best, and catch you soon!
Nicolas.

The former one was somehow more ... spectacular, this one being more conventional.
Tastes...

it uses the only "outsourced" module in the lineup: the Kurt Klaus perpetual calendar. My only wish for this piece is that the 3 o'clock subdial would have included a sweep seconds hand.
Can't wait to see it in the metal. For me, SS on Navy strap is the way to go.
-Dean
Well, it was at a time when some brands invest their efforts in common, don't you think?
So, do we still have to consider that this movement, or more precisely, the module, is outsourced?
But you're right to add that precision, by the way.
Sweep second hand ?
Why not, if it doesn't ruin the purity and the simplicity of the whole dial.
Any good " photoshop player " here to see what it could do?
Best, Dean.

and a more common moonphase disc rotating through and aperture would be my 2 "improvements" if I had my way.
Unfortunately, although the moonphase is "pretty," like this, it's a bit too "Chopard" for me, and draws your eye squarely on that dark circle, which is off center. An aperture would be more discreet, since you'd only see a semi-circle.
When I say, "outsourced" I mean they buy the kit and build it their own way for this piece. The original "Master Perpetual is still my favorite, and I've been yearning to see an enlarged version of it built on the 899 base, so that we'd have the thin bezel (ala MGUT) "40mm Master QP" with movement 899/440/2. The original was so clean and reliable and only 10.1mm thin! Picture it with an ivory dial in rose gold or a silver sunray finished dial in steel (or black dial, for that matter).
Just one JLC lover's opinion.

Hi Daos,
your post sums up my impressions as well. An additional feature I like about the new QP is its smaller case diameter. Overall the dial looks clearer, the MP is great, PR and D/N indications are less impressive - as you said
!
Anyway, I´m happy this watch is way beyond my realistic scope, so I´ll limit myself to watch-ing instead of watch-buying.
Kind regards,
anaesdoc

Thanks for your compliment, Daos, which I can easily return to you.
At least our tastes seem to have a broad area of crossover
.
Kind regards,
anaesdoc

I hope they make a Platinum version. A very nice perpetual indeed. I would miss the second hand though - I like something moving on the dial, personally.
Best
Andreas
The "old" was pretty good, but this new version seems to have so much more class. As you described, the moonphase indicator is much nicer, and so is the more simple looking dial as a whole. I am not a big fan of YG or RG watches, but for this one I make an exception; looks great (the other exception I'll make for the Duometre which is made for a RG case). So again; very well done JLC. The designers there made some damn good decisions in changing some of their designs the past couple of years (Hometime, Geographique and now this Master Perpetual). So when do you think the Master Moon and the Master Calender new style will arrive?
Thanks for the post,
Best,
Starman
This was not on my list but the s/s version will be Kari's Christmas present to Kari.
Best, Kari
Will Santa Darja give you a hand?
Best, my friend.

is on the receiving side. However, when we have been checking together all the new offerings of SIHH and Baselworld, we picked up onpy JLC Tribute to 1931 and the new JLC Perpetual. Patek had also some nice offerings but one should be an attorney-at-law in order to afford the same...
