. I guess the 6610 will have to wait a little longer. You will always find one, one day or another, but the TT DSA may well go fast, if I judge from the first enthusiastic reactions...
Best,
Nicolas.
It is also the counterpart to fully respect the embargoes...Sometimes the brands share with you some cool secrets.
Best, and thanks for your reaction, Richard.
Nicolas.
What to say, just beautiful watches. Very well done from JLC, and congratulations for your contribution as I know you were involved in the project. Obviously a great dal of thinking and research has been put into this project which to me explains that these tribute/re edition watches come out with a much better outcome than the execution of other brands.
Also the size is great I think, making it more contemporary, without going into some oversizing which has been some kind of fashion in the last years. Also releasing the 2 versions is quite smart from a marketing stand point as it doesn't cost that much more to do 2 dials once the rest is done! What strikes me is the difference in the number produced, it would translate that they put less commercial potential in the US version!? producing it to a smaller number will make it more exclusive though!...Although the pricetag makes it already exclusive enough!
It also makes the big dilemna for the fans!...
Finally, thanks Nico for the fantastic and detailed post, we can feel all your passion into that. Now next step is feel it on the wrist!!!...ah temptation!...
Matt
First of all, and I didn't write it in my post, the TT DSA is the result of a collaboration between friends of the brand and the brand, like it was the case for the TTP.
It is a team work, which caused a lot of very interesting brainstormings.
The size was at the centre of the discussions: Larger to be conform to the trend ( 42 or 44 mm ) or deliberately indentical to the original, like the ... original?
You see the outcome here.
About the US TT DSA, something made me laught a lot: I remembered the reactions when people saw the writings on the NSA alarm disk, and I was quite convinced that it would be less disturbing on the Tribute...
JLC believes in both of these versions, Matt, not one more than another, and when you read the reactions here, it is 50 / 50, each of these has its fans, which is excellent.
Another last point on which I want to insist is that on theTT DSA, except the movement, every other thing is new, from the case to the crowns, without forgetting the dials, the plexys, the bezel.
Expensive?
Yes.
Less than the TT Polaris, though, which had some eleme, nts laready exisiting in the catalog: The case and the crowns, to mention them.
I would have liked to see it a bit less expensive, though but it will be a " one shot " production.
Best, Matt.
Nicolas.
BUT that doesn't explain all, as JLC has a genuine willing to revisit their very rich Past.
For our greatest pleasure.
Best, Damjan.

Another TT DSA Victim?
Was great to see you there.
Best,
Nicolas.
Nicolas,
to answer your last question : it was definitely worth the wait, almost 50 years after the production of the last DSA. Lovely watches, highly attractive, accurate reedition with the fine-grained texture of the dial and the LeCoultre production etc.
Thanks, once more, for providing us with an extensive and dedicated review allowing us to be the first to admire them.
I have nevertheless to admit that I raised an eyebrow when reading the official price, but I guess it's not really a surprise if compared to the price of the TTP 65/68 released last year (or 2 years ago already??).
It appears that JLC exploits fully its heritage by reissuing another emblematic model (after Polaris 65 & 68, and Reverso 1931). Is there any other manufacture that follow the same strategy and to the same extent ?? What will be next from JLC ???
Thanks for your post Nicolas, looking forwrd to discover these TTDSA in flesh
Best,
Karmin
So, 3 years ago, and it was priced 10 500 Euros ( TTP 68 ), 11 500 Euros ( TTP 65 Paris Boutique ) and 25 000 Euros ( TTP 65 Platinum ).
Like you, I would have preferred to see its price a bit lower, but we have to keep in mind:
1/ That a lot of elements of the watch are new ( to be clear, all except the movement ).
2/ That it will be a " one shot " production.
To be put in perspective...
I dream of a new family in the JLC Catalog, or, to say it better, of a new chapter: The Tribute To ", where some icons will be revisited.
What next?
Damn tough question:
Geophysic?
Mark 11?
Weems?
Futurematic?
SHOM?
My guess, and it is just a guess, is that we might well see some other " Tribute " Releases.
I pray for that.
Best and thanks for your input, Karmin.
Nicolas.
Another great report, Nico. No wonder you were so excited. The design is intriguing and eccentric - alarms to control your dive yet no functional bezel? really stupid. But stupid in an endearing way (now that it's the 21st Century
)
It's a marvellously faithful reproduction of the original, that said, it leaves me a little cold. I don't want a new vintage watch, I want a real vintage watch. Lamborghini could remake faithful replicas of a Muira but I wouldn't look at one for more than about 20 minutes....I get similar feelings about this watch. And with less WR than the original it's like the 'new' Muira only being capable of 120...
The fact that it doesn't interest me is probably a better reflection on the lovely original than the new offering..
But did you think about which looks like a kind of ... paradox?
Who knows the original?
A very few of the people!
They all heard about the Polaris, but what about the original DSA?
I think that the Tribute pays a vibrant hommage to the original, puts the lights on the original.
It is not a competitor, it is its best friend.
Therefore, it is not an ugly watch, and will certainly give a lot of pleasure to their wearers.
Best,
Nicolas.
Thanks for great report Nicolas. This already turns up the heat for all of us before SIHH.

But will ask next week.
God may give me an answer?
Best and thanks, Eitan.
Nicolas.
My favourite JLC vintage... it is Christmas again
Nicolas, this was truly a brilliant post. The background context of the competitors, the history of the deep sea alarm and the incredible details you provided between the originals and the tributes told a wonderful story.
Now my head will spin until I decide which one to buy. Maybe the limited availability on the American version will make my decision for me, but both are equally appealing at first blush. Thank you my friend.
Any of them will give you a lot of pleasure, my friend.
So, don't worry, you can't go wrong here.
Best, and thanks for your nice words.
Nicolas.
It is awesome that there will be both US and Euro versions. I know which one I prefer in this case, which surprises me a little as I usually like less writing on a dial. But the US version is THE ONE for me.
Wow, it really looks like MJLC did a great job with this re-edition as in the case of the Polaris. I really respect the decisions made about the lume and the non-turning bezel. Not sure how I feel about the change ins size, but that is a small matter both figuratively and literally.
I realize that these are prototypes, but here here they are presented on what looks like the OEM strap for the Polaris. Any word on what the actual strap will be for these re-editions?
This is a big year for JLC as it looks to its past with this tribute and the Reverso Tribute to 1931.
Well, thank you Nicolas and JLC for your work on this project. This will be a great success I am sure!
Best,
respo
They are fantastic - makes it hard to choose.
We then just have to wait impatiently for what might be coming in relation to the reverso and the jubilee.
Soren
What is coming in relation to the Reverso and the Jubilé?
You already have the answer: The TT 1931, which was covered by Ming and Ed.
We'll come back to it in a week.
Best,
Nicolas.
