I tought that it was made of ceramic.... My mistake. Is this material scratch resistant? Do you have an idea if its possible to take of some minor scratches? And also if it get scratched, what should happen during the watches life how much a new bezel + insert? I saw here in this post that it is made of two parts, one from stainless steel, and also the insert, accordi g to you made of aluminium...thanks for your answer!!

Same material than on the Rolex Subs.

It is not possible to take the scratches off, even minor.

But youy can always have your insert changed for a new one, by JLC

You made a confusion with ceramic, because at the beginning, ithe idea was to use a bakelite insert.

Perfect nicolas, thanks for your answer. I believe that i also made a mistake because most of the watches nowadays has the insert in ceramic, as my jlc navyseals chrono. But it is just the good and old aluminium hehehe.... Do you have an idea of how much would it cost, to change the insert and also if i have to change the hole bezel, the insert and also the metal part? Sorry to bother you, but i could not find those information with jlc here in brazil....

Thank you for yet another great post and report. I have been lurking around this great forum for quite some time but never thanked you yet so I thought it was about time. Yesterday, I was blown away by the Tribute to 1931, but this watch will make it even harder to focus on my upcoming exams. I think JLC has done a great job.

That watch is stunning. Just simple, just gorgeous. I've just place my order to my dealer.
I will be perfect beside my Polaris 1968.
I have allways hesitated to buy the 1965 Polaris but now I am sure it was great to leave a place for this one wich is someway close to it.
Good job JLC and at a good price...

I love a lot the fact that JLC accepted to sign just LeCoultre on the dial.

It would have been historically weird to see JLC on the dial.

An excellent point for JLC, and even a double one, with the name Reverso signed on the TT 1931!

This is precisely what I’ve been dreaming about . That European version is absolutely to die for…and the US version is not too shabby either.

I believe I commented on one of your post recently regarding JLC releasing a version of the DSA, cant believe its coming true.

I’m beyond excited but worried at the same time…not sure if I would have the opportunity to purchase one and more so…where to come up with the funds. The euro version is a must have for me !

To tell you the truth, in some of your comparison shots, I had to look hard for discoloration and scratches to tell which is the vintage and which is the tribute.

Well done, JLC, and a special applause to you for that quick but thorough education on the history of the watch.

If JLC opted for only one DSA, can you imagine how deceived the fans of the other versions would be?

I am firmly convinced that the decision to release both of them is THE good one.

Everybody is happy.

And to the delight of true collectors and the dismay of finicky buyers like myself, the crystal is not sapphire. Let's say I am happy for those who value faithfulness to the original. I really am. But sadly plexy is not for me. That is also why I did not get the Polaris Tribute and why I was very interested in the Navy Seals Alarm (which, as you may remember, is 100% to my taste design-wise but just too big for my small wrist).

...my OCD condition would compel me to look at the scratches on the plexy and not the beauty under and around it. It happened to me before with the Speedmaster which I later sold for a sapphire version. Anyway, it's a personal problem and not any manufacturer's fault. :P
