I have a rather childish dilemma and your collective wisdom is very much welcome.

A few months after SIHH 2010 I developed a sudden urge to buy another JLC to replace one I sold by mistake (down to only two now). At first I was attracted to the Navy Seals Auto but the new Memovox kind of outshone it when I had the two side by side on my wrist at a preview event in late June. Eventually I became impatient and placed an order for a certain Reverso watch in July. It arrived promptly from a regional office the following month. However, there was a minor alignment defect with that watch and I refused to accept it. The dealer was courteous enough to handle the issue themselves and order a second one for me. The problem is that the replacement never came and we are just eight weeks away to SIHH 2011.

So my options now are to...
1) Keep on waiting and make no change to the purchase
2) Cancel the order, wait and see what JLC will offer on the 80th anniversary of Reverso, then revert to the original choice if the new launches don't interest me as much
3) Use the deposit as credit towards that IWC Pilot Chronograph 3717 I have always wanted or possibly the new Memovox in steel with silver dial (both fresh and sealed in stock now)

All advices are welcome, as well as any rumors about new products!

stay in the original plan. It is clear that new Reversos are introduced but some old models are perhaps dropped. I have found that in general it is better to stay in the original plan because in my case when I have changed my plans, the changes have not been normally considered to the bitter end.

I would not change a JLC Reverso to IWC's chrono...

So I would rather stick with JLC. Besides, I already have a Portuguese Seven Days and a GST Aquatimer before that so I am not in a big rush to get an IWC.

Waiting 8 more weeks for the SIHH, but how many more months to see the novelties land?

It wil be a Reverso year, next year, so if you're on to buy a complicated Reverso, wait a bit to see what JLW will release.

If you are on to get the new Memo; just because you ove it, you can't go wrong, it is a Classic.

...it was a full year to the expected delivery of 2011 novelties in my country in August or September. But that period has shortened somewhat now so I may just wait and see. Thank you, Nicolas.

It may be destiny that the Reverso did not land in your hands, or that the one you did get was not to your liking. Your post suggests that the Memovox was your ideal choice this year but that you ordered the Reverso on an impulse. If so, I would propose dropping the Reverso and going with the Memovox, since it's unlikely that there will be a new edition Memovox out so soon (perhaps a boutique/limited edition though). Moreover, waiting for SIHH 2011 may only be a matter of eight weeks, but as Nicolas points out, it may be months before the pieces land.

Wait 6-8 months for a new Reverso, or wake up each morning to the tone of the Memovox...

It is classy, elegant, dressy and all. But I work from home and wear jeans and casual clothing on a daily basis. If I get the Memovox, the number of days I can wear it in a year will be quite limited like the Master Moon I owned. I ordered that particular model of Reverso because it is different enough from my current Reverso and casual enough to wear more regularly.

But I like your last sentence (i.e. wait 6-8 months or wake up each morning) very much. Thank you, thank you.

Ruckdee, I would say you try to be patient.  See  what 2011 SIHH has to offer.  Of course i should follow my own advice...LOL.  But I have definitely held off on a Reverso until at least I see what JLC does in 2011.  None of the watches you specifically mentioned are going anywhere -- in other words, you will still be able to find them later, even if you have to wait a bit more.  Who knows what beautiful Reversos may be announced in 2011.  As Niclas suggested, they may be complicated and also expensive, but perhaps there will also be some beautiful"simple" models as well.

With my planned wedding next year, I can afford to buy only one watch for myself this year and the next. I have to make it count.

Remember the 75th anniversary? When there were super expensive models and the more affordable ones like the Grande Sun Moon and the Squadras. Yes, I am hoping for something in the price bracket of the latter.

the XGT 8-day Reversos are being discontinued (at least, the old ones), which is a shame because I LOVE a long power reserve. However, the new Grande Reverso size (976 or larger 986) versions are quite nice, and - who knows - JLC might do a 15-day power reserve.

I don't think you can go wrong with a Memovox, as it is as much a part of the JLC DNA as a Reverso - perhaps more so since it NEVER ceased production, and the Reverso did (for a little while).

Warning: if you wait 'til SIHH, it'll be June AT THE EARLIEST that you'll see any product. If you're bent on getting a watch right now, I'd go for the Memovox (it's SO clean and beautiful - and timeless).

The XGT size I can wear although it is a tad bit too thick on my skinny wrist. The Grande Reverso size I cannot wear at all because of its length.

As for the Memovox, I like it very much mostly because of the sheer purity and the alarm function which I never have. The only problem I have with it is I won't get to wear it much. It is classy, elegant, dressy and all. But I work from home and wear jeans and casual clothing on a daily basis. If I get the Memovox, the number of days I can wear it in a year will be quite limited like the Master Moon I owned. That is what made me hesitate on such a beautiful piece.

For me, I will wait for new Reverso for a few months.
But for someone who already have Reverso like you, I suggest that new Memovox would be a good option.
