Apologies if this has been covered before - I ran a quick search on the forum but didn't find any answers. Aside from the numbered limited edition models, is it possible to find out the production quantities of a given JLC model? And how about JLC's annual production over all models? This would also help me put into perspective how special an xxxx/1500 pcs model is relative to JLC's annual output, for example, the NSA which I really like. I was told that annually they output roughly 60k pcs across all models, which leaves me thinking that a 1500pc limited edition isn't that special maybe (aside from the fact that a limited edition probably stays in the line fewer seasons)? Just curious.
Thanks in advance for any answers.

I'd say that the annual production varies from one year to another.
For this year, my guess is that JLC will be something between 35 / 45 000 pieces.
As for the NSA, the 1500 pieces will be produced in a 2 or 3 years time.
It was introduced in 2009, so my guess is that they will totally be produced in 2011.
But it doesn't mean nothing: A very sought after piece may be produced in 1500 piece,s it still can be rare as the demand will overcome, by far numbers, the offer.
While a LE of 100 pieces can be neglected by everybody.
So, the paradox is that, following this example, the 1500 LE may be rarer than the 100 pieces.
Best,
Nicolas
Whether it's an LE is not the only determining...
Thanks for your input on the overall JLC production. Any idea on rough production numbers of specific non-LE models? Say, for example, if I wanted to know roughly how many pcs of my MWG are produced annualy, is that something that could be found out?
Not sure if this is a strange line of questioning. To clarify a bit, as a watch wearer, I don't like to have a lot of other people wearing my same watch (my one and only complaint about the sub that I have...in HK every other person has one!) so I'm curious about the relative availability of my watch and JLCs as a whole. I'm happy to report that so far, I've only seen 1 other person wearing the MWG in over 1 year. I think this is a win for me
Cheers,

I do understand your ponit of view.
Once, in the Court, we were 8 lawyers for the same case, and we all wore a Rolex Dayto.
I came back home and changed my watch.
The only thing I can tell you is that you will not see the MWG on everybody's wrist, as this kind of complication is not often seen.
Best,
Nicolas
Maybe it's better that way...more mysterious.
Cheers,
