Why? Because today my old beloved beater is back on my wrist!

 

 

 

After a too long absents of wrist time and affection from my part, she is now back on my wrist.

 

And every time I look at her she makes me smile.

 

 

What made me realize I hadn’t worn her in a long time was this rare bird I saw this week end…

 

The Mater Compressor Memovox in white gold.

As you speak about some luxury variations on the Master Compressor Memovox, what about this one, my friend, the platinum version:



The MC Memo is indeed an important part of the JLC History.

The first Master Compressor watch, a kind of modernized Legend watch, the Polaris, an evolution of the Cal 916, the Cal 918, and a pleasant watch to wear.

Aaah, I almost forgot, it is also a .. Black Memovox!

were there any other differences (e.g., dial color) onteh WG or Pt. versions compared to the SS?

The SS came with the black dial.

The WG came with a slate grey dial, while the platinum had the blue dial.

In 2002, I owned one in SS, indeed.

I sold it 3 years after to go on the Amvox I Titanium.

Now, I wonder if I won't get another one, in SS, to complete the " Black Thema ".

Nothing urges, though, as I have amny other priorities.

Therefore, is platinum the best choice for a diving watch?

They have been with us for years, always by our side, but it’s easy only to talk about the new stuff…

That one was on my dream list, but I must confess that today I prefer the WG grey dial.

 

Am I starting to mature? Or maybe depp down it’s like always – I would love to have them all!!

It will fit in my collection, no doubt about that.

Therefore, it is a very special watch, a pleasant retro look, not the nicest, for sure, compared to the Amvox I or the NSA, but not ininteresting at all.

I think that, to describe it, I would say that it has some undisputable charm.

I know, all this is very subjective.

And I think I know how you feel -- I feel the same whenever I do not have my "beater" on my wrist for any period of time.  I strap it on, and it is like an old friend come to visit.

I still admire the MC Memo very much.  Very much.
