Amvox 5 got all the bell-and-whistle but let's not forget the original. Some of you might have already forgot they were once in love with it, how about a strap change to revitalize the plain and original design...

 

I hope it will become one of the classics after some years...

 

I rather like it because of it's simplicity (all things being relative). It was a watch I was seriously considering before I purchased my Polaris 68.

No doubt it will become a classic in my view.

The Alarm watches are strongly linked to JLC History, and this Amvox is one of the most modern and charmful expression.

It is already a Classic, in my Heart.

It's ushered in a whole line of very intriguing pieces, and as an alarm is quite robust.  We were playing with one at a crowded party and you could definitely hear it over the general noise of the people gathered there.

The AMVOX1 is a very special watch.  I still think about it with desire.  Like George above, I was seriously considering it before I got the Tribute to Polaris '65, and at least then and for the moment, I decided only to have one alarm watch. But the AMVOX still pulls at my wrist.  It is a superb design with a robust alarm movement, as Daos mentioned above, and it is the one that started the AMVOX line.  It has a special place in the JLC Memovox history as our Moderator has elolquently written about before. 

BUT, it is a good thing to be reminded every once in a while as to its beauty and charm.  Thank you for putting this great watch before us once again. Lone live the AMVOX1

.... it's hard not to love this watch. This watch helped launch the AMVOX line with a masculine elegance that hasn't been matched by other auto-affiliated watch lines. I feel like the AMVOX line has enjoyed a stronger, longer run and avoided co-branding novelty stigma because this very watch cut such an independent, distinctive, yet nuanced profile.

AMVOX designs stand on their own because JLC decided from the outset that *THIS* Amvox design would be "auto-inspired" rather than a wrist-borne billboard

When AMVOX watches launched, the conventional wisdom in the watch industry seemed to be that "car" associations required various carbon fiber motifs, tire-patterned rubber straps, huge, speedometer-style bezels, busy dials, and TONS of automotive brand logos, prominently displayed (e.g. Bentley, Ferrari, etc.).

AMVOX took a completely different tack, and that was a profoundly innovative idea at the time. It was inspired by the subtle power, sporting intent, and craft quality of Aston Martin rather than literal automotive symbology. The ability to recognize and capture the spirit rather than the literal image of a muse is a rarity in art, and it elevates this watch to the level of the best architecture, music, and even impressionist depiction.

It's the patriarch of a proud line; wear it with pride.

And photograph it. A lot.

That is exactly the point, with Amvox watches.

more beautiful. Titanium really age well as compared to other metals, maybe except bronze in the Gefica.

this is one hell of a bronze watch which I wanted so badly when it launched. I manage to resist it and tell myself that it is too big on your wrist and you wont be able to sell it later on if you fall for other pieces...
though people dont normally assoicate patina with Ti, but i have to agree on your view, and ti cases actually aged quite nicley with a unique misty patina!

after seeing yours on brownish color strap, it makes me go to look for this color strap for my AMVOX too.

this watch has came to me recently, i spent most of my weekend time with it. it is a great watch indeed.
