I have possession of this beautiful Master Tourbillon for about two months.

I was fascinated by Tourbillon and wanted to get one of these when JLC first launched them in 2006.

But I never took the plunge until a friend wanted to let go of his.

I then picked up a steel bracelet for it and it really changes the look of this piece - being sportier and casual now, can even be worn as an everyday watch.

However I just couldn't get over its size after wearing it continuously for about 2 weeks, which is a real shame as it is a very interesting piece. I would've probably keep it if it comes in that awesome black dial of the platinum version. All in all, it is a very nice Tourbillon with dual time function at a very attractive price point.

As it does seem, as you say, a very wearable, even everyday tourbillon.  What do you mean about the size?  Does ti seem to you too big or too small?  Diameter or thickness?

In any case, it is beautiful piece and nice that one can get a bracelet for it as well, right?

My wrist is about 6.5" and just couldn't pull it off.

I have parted with my beloved Amvox-1 for the same reason....

It is also probably the only Tourbillon that fit my taste (all my watches are on bracelet), so I am sad to see her go.

Affordable, well, for a Tourbillon, I mean, seriously built, and very accurate, as it is the one which won the last Chronometry contest!

After, it is a question of ergonomy and taste, as you said, Goh.

It may be a pain for you to let it go, but if it is too big, there is nothing to do, except to consider the latest Tourbillon from JLC, the Master Tourbillon Date, which is 39 mm big, but available only in RG, for the moment.

on your write up of the new Master Date Tourbillon.

I did not response then because I was still looking for a buyer for the Tourbillon.

I like that the JLC logo is centered on the new Tourbillon, it looks very elegant too. I just hope that JLC offers it in steel and with bracelet someday.

The price is quite similar between the two if I am not wrong, based on what is listed for the RG versions, which is a good thing.

I recently swapped out the original strap for a JLC Memovox black strap with white stitiching.  Dang, does that change the watch!  Sporty and sophisticated,  My wrist is 7.375 inches, so the watch looks great.  Personally, the smaller Master Tourbillon does not warm my cockles.

When I get a chance, I'll download a wrist shot.

I have a 7.5" wrist and this was at the upper limit of what I like for size.  It was a great everyday watch, however the lack of contrast between the hands and the dial made it hard to read in some lighting conditions.  And I really do not like the 'pointer' style date display.

So, sadly mine is gone as well.  But certainly not forgotten.

That's a gorgeous piece,and one of my personal dream watches, so I congratulate you on having worn and enjoyed it for a time. Thanks for posting the photos; I enjoyed the strap vs. bracelet juxtaposition.

Alas, dreams are very personal things, and it's definitely for the best that you moved to something more compatible with your taste.

Since I grew up with a generation that considered 45mm G-Shock monoliths "cool," even on women, I have a different perception of watch-to-wrist ratio. I'm pleased as pie with my 46mm+ Tides of Time on a spindly 6.5" wrist! Laugh, of course, but I laugh with you....

I do agree that the lack of contrast between the hands, dial, and index marks limits the legibility of the silver dial. A black dial in the SS version would have drop-dead appeal.
