After four month, still no sister has surfaced here in the forum…

 

Starting to feel lonely!

 

 

 

I wonder why?

 

The Memovox complication is one of the most popular complications here.

The feedback from the press release was enormous.

Not even the regular Memovox has surfaced here (or do I remember incorrectly?).

 

Is it because members how got it doesn’t share? (Fair enough)

Is the pricing wrong, either go for a simpler piece or a more complicated?

Is the Memovox complication a dying one?

 

 

 

Well, I don’t know why – but I do love my Memovox International!

She is in my regular rotation box.

 

I will return with a Q2 report…

This Memo International ( in its definitive version, and in SS ) is a watch I never happened to see in the flesh!

Each time one lands at my fav JLC AD or at the Paris Boutique, 1 or 2 days after, it is gone.

So, I didn't have the time to see it in the flesh...

While I saw 2 or 3 RG versions, which are, to my big surprise, more tempting than I thought ( I' m not a YG or RG fan ).

The  non limited Master Memo, I mean the simple one, to be clear, is easier to see, and seems to sell easily.

I think that those who own the previous version of the Master Memo, the Master Reveil,  won't go on the Master Memo, as it looks very close, even if the movement is truly different ( 918 for the Reveil / 956 for the Memo ).

But those who still don't own a Master Memo ( or Reveil )  will certainly be tempted by this excellent offer.

Just give Time to Time, my friend.

As for the respective price of both models, I would say that the Master Memovox is well priced, when the Memo International is a bit too high, in my opinion.

But I'm sure it will find its growing number of fans.

As for the Master Reveil, I wonder if many owners do an upgrade to the new version?

Because some years ago I hunted the Reveil like a mad man and could not find a single one.

Now they have started to pop up quite often.

 

About the RG version of the MI…

 

I was very, very close to make a double and pick both…

I had the chance to pick the number twins, same number in SS and RG.

Same number as my other JLC LE…

 

But in the end I went for the SS, if I had gone for the pair, I would have missed the Polaris 65…

It would be a crime to pass on the TTP 65!



As for the Master Memo, it won't be too long before I see one in the flesh, I mean, the International version.

But I have so many priorities to fund for the moment that it is almost a good thing that I'm still not a " the decision Time " on it.

I'm not usually much of a modern watch fan, but the Memovox International is a watch that I'm sure I'll be adding to my collection. I particularly like the 40mm size instead of the gargantuan size of many new models (though I would gladly tolerate the size on a new gyro tourbillon ) I've found a red gold MI that really speaks to me and am strongly considering it.

In YOUR case, there is another reason which pleads in favor of the Memo International...

The fact that you have some Vintage Memos World Time.

Old and Modern, what a comparison pic it would do!

Your case may well also be MY case, but I first need to get this Vintahe Memo WT I'm so badly hunting: The Ref 3160.

Just kidding of course. I was on the verge of ordering it, after deciding against another watch. Then I made a conscious decision to get yet another JLC instead. The watch arrived about a month ago but something was wrong with it. A small mechanical defect but I had no wish of living with it so I asked my dealer to order a replacement. Still waiting for it to arrive. Will show you what it is. Until then I will keep it a secret for the most dramatic effect.

So my trauma/quest/logic can be digested more easily. :P

Q4 2009: Sold my Master Moon to raise fund for engagement expenses and stuff. Down to two JLC: Reverso Grande Sun Moon and Atmos Phases de Lune
Q1 2010: Felt I had one too few JLC. Became interested in the Navy Seals Auto and another Reverso.
Q2 2010: Unrest in Bangkok so JLC SIHH 2010 preview event here was postponed.
Q3 2010: The preview was eventually held. Got to try the Navy Seals Auto. The size was perfect for my small wrist but the price imho was a bit high considering the function. Someone shoved the new Master Memovox into my hand. Slipped it on, liked the watch and found the "bang-for-buck ratio" more agreeable than the Navy Seals Auto. A few days later I called the dealer and ordered a JLC but not these two.

The reasons why I decided not to get the Memovox? Two reasons actually.
1) It's a very formal looking watch like my Master Moon. I won't get to wear it much because I am the work from home type. And when I get to dress up I would wear my Grande Sun Moon or IWC Portuguese Seven Days anyway.
2) I have a current budget of about the same amount as the Memovox. So I decided to get a cheaper, more casual JLC instead and spend the rest of the budget on a birthday present for my fiancee. It's the new Speedmaster Lady with sunburst dial, ceramic bezel and a Valjoux tricompax movement to pair with my Moonwatch and other Speedmasters.



Watch shown is the demo piece. The actual product has just arrived and will be released from all paperwork in a couple of days.

And that's the story of why I didn't get the Master Memovox. Nothing wrong with the watch actually. Just that it doesn't suit my needs at this time.

As for the JLC, I think I know which one you decided on, although I could be wrong... Regardless, congratulations on your purchase and I'm looking forward in learning more about it.

I'm on a similar conundrum on deciding which watch to commit on next. I will tell you about the mess in my head soon.

I think it is a very interesting watch.

It is JLC first attempt to modernize the Polaris.

It is JLC first Diving watch since the last one, in 1975.

It is the first compressor crown JLC watch, the first member of a new family.

You know what?

I regret having sold mine some 5 years ago...
