The RS came 2006 in three models; Hometime, Chronograph GMT and World Chronograph.
As I have said before – I am not much of a Chronograph guy…
I know I will regret mentioning this because of all the wonderful Chronos that are displayed at this forum…
One day I might have to pull the trigger on one of them…
When the HT came I was very quick to jump for it in SS.
Finally a sporty Reverso with size!
Big, tough, but still with a lot of the classic Reverso look – nice, I like!
A very friendly complication the HT. Useful when travelling or if someone close is abroad.
If you use the HT it gives the watch another dimension, but if you like, you may always hide it, and your watch has a “clean dial” again.

The classic silver dial with the ribbons in the centre. AM/PM indicator, date, small seconds and the second time zone. Nice!

Open case back with the movement on display
Skeleton rotor, Cal 977 is a very beautiful movement.
I like the detail that they used cross screws – so you won’t get confused and think it’s something from AP or Hublot…
If you would miss the JLC logo on the rotor that is!
Big and strong and so is the strap with the double folding clasp.
With this kind of volume of the watch it’s a special feeling to wear it.
The built up strap adds on this feeling, especially as the strap is very stiff.
It feel more like a AP ROO than a JLC.
The nut shaped crown is also very unlike JLC.
After some time, you start to realise that this classic looking Reverso is not that classic JLC in feel.
Like everything that is new, you are very happy with it in the beginning.
Then after a while starts to see the flaws…
But then my eyes caught another Squadra.
On a JLC dinner one of the other guests had a HT LE – the first version, with black dial in RG. Oh, nice!
I you had to have it – and very soon I did!
Very lucky as it was released in 500 pieces 2 years earlier!
Beautiful – I am a sucker for black dials!
The RG is heavier + the AR-RU-BR also adds weight – so it’s heavy!
And the bracelet is very comfortable! Love it!
Much better than the leather strap and the folding clasp is better on the bracelet to!
The rubber coated nut shaped crown and the red second time zone + red 60 are really nice touches!

I actually prefer white metal before gold, but this was before JLC released the HT black.
Well, time for stars…
The HT in SS gets 6 out of 10 stars and the HT in RG gets a weak 8 out of 10 stars.
If the feel of the watch would be as much JLC as the looks, it would be a straight 8.
The RG one gets higher points because of the bracelet.
Weight also makes the RG to feel more solid than the SS.
Ohterwise it would have got 7…

I am glad you took this one on as well. I have come very very close to getting a Squadra. I actually like both the RG and the SS models, both the hometime and the chrono, both on braqcelet and on strap. I find the Worldtime too thick, although that woudl be my favorite combination of frunctions, and I live the worldtime display on the back....hmmm, maybe I need to try that one on again.
Interestingly, the other night I was on a flight home and saw across the aisle a gentleman wearing a Squadra HT, and I noticied that it looked really thick and large on him. Still, very, very nice.

Very happy if I can inspire someone to actually look at the neglected JLC’s that have been produced and that are a big part of there’s development too what JLC are to day.

Nicolas, as I mentioned, the Squadra is not a classic JLC when it comes to the feeling…

I know you are a classic Reverso man.
And the Squadra are everything but classic…
When it comes to the feeling…
But it’s still a Reverso
