Dear all, following some very helpful input from some of you, I commissioned a custom strap for my newly-acquired MUT 34 - and here it is. The strap is buttery soft and comfortable. It's a very interesting colour that ranges from dark grey to dark greenish blue according to the lighting. Here are a few shots showing what I mean.

Great photos.  Of course, the MUT looks beautiful and that looks like a great combo with the new strap. 

So, do you find the the 34mm size acceptable?

I have thought about the 38mm MUT myself, but I am held back by the fact that there is still this original 34mm MUT, which is really the ultimte ultra thin.  No matter what, both look so elegant, and of course that same amazing movement works tirelessly inside. Congratulations!

LOL! I'm very pleased if I've accidentally invented a new format for photography here on PuristSPro. Thanks to all for your comments, and for your initial input into this choice. It's a pleasing result that shows the collective good taste of members here.

Respo, I'm fine with the 34mm size for two main reasons - firstly, my slender wrists (about 6.25in) and secondly, because I've always belonged to the "less is more" school of watches - my only other pieces (IWC Mark XVI and Stowa Antea KS) are also very simple and relatively small by modern standards. Here in the UK, there seems to be a small trend towards vintage dress watches at the moment, most of which are around 35-38mm I guess. At the moment, I'm taken over by the beauty of this MUT and I'm wearing it daily. Technically, it is running -5s per day when left dial up at night, which is acceptable by my standards.

I think the best thing you can do is to try on the MUT 34 and see how it looks to you. I have to warn you though - take your wallet with you - otherwise it might break your heart to leave this watch behind in the boutique!

as far as the size goes, i'm quite happy to wear anything from about 34mm-46mm. it all depends on how the watch is styled. sports watches suit bigger cases and dress watches suit the smaller size as this is.

i'm sure people have already said 'welcome', but i'll say welcome from another UK member.
