It seems that looing ofr the ideal strap on the Polaris is contagious, as now, I 'm working on the D.S.A...



Here's the outcome:









The idea behind was to enhance the Vintage rough loo of the Deep Sea Alarm, and also the chocolate dial .

It matches, too, with the vanilla indexes...

Around 3,5 mm thick, it works very well on this JLC, at least to me.

...even more than when this same strap was on the Pola.  Very rough, masculine, and vintage look you've got going there, Nicolas.  You should grow a five o'clock shadow to go with it!

This one, maybe a grey black one, and the tropic ( as it was, for this last, the original strap for this watch ).

But hey, this is real fun to test them all, and in a certain way, it helps to better know its " personality ".

LOL.  Seriously, I like this one a lot with the DSA -- works well with the indices, as you sid, and is in keeping with the vintage nature of this watch.  Good choice!  I really love the look of thisDSA overall very much.

Which in English is " Twenty years old ", according to my Borat dictionary...



BUT, For Purists, watches made before 1980 can be considered as Vintage.

No problems for the Deep Sea Alarm or the Polaris as they were respectively released in 1959 and 1963 - 1970.

The strap will darken a little with age and will complement the markers perfectly   .

It is too new, and it lacks patina...

C&n't agree more, nor wait to see its aging.

While I don't mind that combination. I really have a thing against divers on leather. (Panerai don't count, they are based on a time when there was not much alternative, except, perhaps, canvas)

Now I know these old watches are very unlikely to ever see water, but it doesn't change the intent.

But some leather straps were treated for water activities...So I played on this ground...

But once again, the D.S.A never came with such a strap, so you're right.

But, on another side, it works well!
