Time flies!

I spent almost 2 years with the intrigant JLC titanium MMR.

2 years of intense pleasure and use, as everywhere I went in the world, Italy, Spain, Austria, Belgium, England, Marocco, it was with me, on my wrist.

When I picked it, my main idea was to see if I would be able to add to its superb concept watch look another of the most important quality to me, a watch I will be able to live with,not like a Daily Beater, but almost, rather than wearing it only for special occasions, and letting it most of the time in its box, in the safe.

So, I used and abused of it a lot, without other precautions than with a " normal " watch.

I also submitted it to the Road Test:





I didn't count the times I played with the Minute Repeater trigger, only to enjoy this special sound, but I often counted the hours in the middle of the night for my wife's greatest pleasure, of course, which obliged me to spend the first nights in the bathroom!



I couldn't resist to my daughter's willing to hear it, and what a daughter wants..You all know the rule!

During GTGs, it was also here, to share with friends its exceptionnal qualities, so they played with, tried it a lot, too.

After almost 2 years of such an intense live test and treatment, I decided to send it to the Manufacture, to check if all was ok, as I'm a big fan of the prevention rather than the repair.

It also needed a light polish, as during a GTG, a guy put it on his wrist forgetting that he has a Rolex Sea Dweller on the wrist, which caused a ding on the titanium polished bezel.

So, the outcome is here:

All was checked, and nothing to complain about, nothing to set, to change, to repair, except this light polish due to the ding on the bezel.

The sound tests were made, the accuracy of the watch, too.

Nothing to report.

That's also why I love it: Reliable, accurate, poetic, romantic, even, complicated as a Minute repeater can be, with a true concept watch look...

The Titanium MMR is my favourite open dial.

An introduction to skeeton watches, indeed.

I may even say that since I won this one, I paid some interest to skeleton watches, indeed.

2 different styles, as I see the open dial much more like a Concept, while the Skeleton belongs to Tradtiional ( and sublime ) Horology.

Gr8  gr8 watch nicolas, and the way u wear it and live with it, is THE right way of doing it. I never understood those that keep their watches in a their safe all the time and wear them occasionnally when there is a big event. As for me, every day is an event to be lived as fully as i can.
These watches can be compared to a beautiful bird that is born to fly free in the sky and not caged in to be admired.... How about that?

There is a big difference between being careless about our watches, to wear them in any circumstances, or to let them encaged in a safe.

A watch is an object of pleasure and desire.

They are made to live with.

I can tell you that I missed it a lot during these 2 months it was at " La Grande Maison ".

But Love is also that...

Prodigious pictures of this fine instrument.  You have, as yet, not failed to impress me with the pieces in your collection.  Perhaps a group photo of your JLC family in the future?

It would be interesting only if I find something interesting to do, witrh this pic...

Ah Nicolas, this MMR still drives me crazy.  It remains THE unattainable ONE for me.  Great photos of your wrist and the MMR in their travels.  I always love your fascination with strapping watches to the grill of your A5. You and Bernard seem to have this compulsion to take the connections between watches and cars to that next dangerous level. LOL.

Before grabbing it.

It took me 14 months before being able to put the trigger on this one.

I took some pics of the Titanium MMR since I saw it, amalyzed it, quite every day, and at the end, I was convinced, totally convinced that it was a piece for me.

The only doubt I had was to know if I would go on the platinum, or on the titanium.

I know there are some strong fans of the platinum, but I find the titanium a bit crazier, and the platinum a bit wiser.

When a watch is so strong, so mad, it really needs some mad pics.

Bernard understands it perfectly ( please check Bernard's posts about the Freak, it is awesome! )

Yes, there are very big connections between cars and watches, and both of them work very well together, IMO.

I heard the Ti MMR in action last December at the Purist Christmas Party.  It is, without exception, the loudest MR I have ever heard.  Truly an exceptional piece.  Your active enjoyment of this stellar watch is an example for all of us to follow.  As I stated in a recent thread, we all should transform our grail watches into our daily wearers.  You have, yet again, confirmed the importance of that practice.

Your pictures are stunning! Being the one in Morrocco my favorite.

I can only imagine how upset you were after it received a ding on the bezel, but I am very happy to hear that you got it back from servicing and that the ding is now well in the past.

By the way, I laughed my way to the floor picturing you in the middle of the night playing with your Repeater. Indeed, priceless moments fueled by passion.

Congratulations on 2 great years, and I wish you many more years of happiness with it, as well as more on-location photographs all over the world.

You can wear it with Jeans, or with a Suit, there is no problem, the MMR has its place everywhere.

A truely polyvalent watch.

I cvan tell you that the 3 first nights, I didn't sleep a lot.

I was completely submerged by its magic.

And till now, still under the Charm.
