I am toying with the idea of ordering an AMVOX3 but had a question regarding the rotor noise.  I was wondering if any of you have had the chance to wear or at least play with one and noticed the level of rotor or winding noise?  I have a Master Tourbillon and am not overly thrilled with the loud winding noise it makes while on the wrist (probably why I often prefer a manual wind).  It just does not seem to fit with the elegance of the watch.  I hardly notice any noise in the AMVOX2 but seeing that the tourbillon in the 3 is similar to that of the Master Tourbillon I didn't know if the noise would be comparable or if the Extreme Lab rotor would make a difference (for better or worse).  My 68 Polaris tribute is very noisy but it seems to fit better with the character of the watch and doesn't bother me at all.  I thank you in advance for any help.

As for your question, I hold one last week, in Paris, for a few minutes, and I didn't notice the noise of the Rotor, but I was not prepared to see one, so I didn't focus on the noise.

I saw rhe proto several times, in Paris, London, and Geneva, and wasn't disturbed by the noise of the rotor.

While reading your post, I was wondering the same than you about the impact of the Extrem Lab Rotor on the noise.

Since we talked a lot about this matter, I tested my 2 Polarises, but also the Amvox II, and I, and yes, I agree with you that the amvox II is the more discrete of them.

As for the III, will have to check, but wasn't specially disturbed by the noise.

I'm still wondering how I can fund the A III.

hi gyes, talkin about our crickets in our watches, I'm so sorry but, even I didn't heard anything else, there's no bug in my polaris! instead of the titanium amvox one I've owned (such a summertime with a field of crickets!!!). but, in platinum version of these polaris, no noise! I mean, it might depend on type of metal... cheers. O

I have been thinking that a platinum Amvox3 would make the perfect replacement for my RG Master Tourbillon.  I do not find myself wearing this piece much anymore as I seldom wear colored gold and since the arrival of the RG Duometre I wear it even less.  I thought of the Amvox3 often before but after seeing your photos of it in Platinum I've made it my must have piece so I definitely understand the suffering reference   Do you have any idea when they will start to be released in Platinum?

It was love at first sight when I saw it in January, even a stronger love than the RG one.

I must find a solution to get one...

Personally speaking, I like rotor noise - makes the watch seem more "alive" to me. Loud rotor noise seems to be a characteristic of the ceramic ball bearings JLC use in the rotor, so if the Amvox III has them, it is likely to share this trait aswell.

Whatever noise it makes, it's a fantastic watch.

All this talk about rotor noise is killing me, hehe. Does anybody have the opportunity to record this and post it as a file? I am especially interested in the noise the cal 945 generates (in titanium/steel)
