As it is a tribute, some comaparison should be added IMO.
The below is some of my first impression:
1) Ring:
a) It rings like school bell. interesting
b) softer in vibrating
2) Weight: to be determined by other (I have no original 65 yet, if compared with 68, less weight in hand sense)
3) Shape: identical IMO
4) Size: True Tribute
5) Detail: The crown is much finished, value added to the exposed back.
6) Packing: Really good Tribute again. (with a spare glass, considerate)
7) Technical: higher beating
8) Same as the original like a vampire on the wrist for long. Be Careful.
.....
I will enjoy it. Thanks Nic and Elisabeth

I did notice the 2nd crown can help as I had not open the wripped instruction yet. It just arrived.
I turn the 3rd for several days in advance to match 1st March.
Great improvement indeed. Cheers!
"The cal 825 has something the new movement doesn't have: The nice feeling of the umper and its legendary " Dong Dong " when you move the watch, and the physical feeling you have on the wrist when the watch moves, too."
Well my 1968 has the same "dong dong" as the old one. After the alarm have been activated the "hammer" is loose until I wind the crown at 2 - but first I have to reeset the alarm to another time, otherwise the alarm will just go of as I wind it....
Is this different from yours?
K825 in original polaris
From the dial detail, it may give your hints : empty small dot.
For the hardware, I use a marco lens and Canon 30D.
You are correct. the Boutique and Platnium version both have the dial with empty dot.
I think it is difficult to identify from the photo except showing the back with the number or to feel it in flesh.
No idea whether the material for straight index would be different?
You're correct, there is no other difference than the metal, on the platinum Polaris.
The dial is strictly the same, and the materials used for it too, than the '65 SS Boutique Edition.

I took this watch off last night and placed it on a white leather surface, where some dim yellow light on its dial. It looked excellent and elegant and compact in sense.
Let's say that for the non familiar with the Polaris, the most impressive watch may be the '68...
But with time, the '65 may take more and more importance, more and more love.
In fact, I love them both, but if I had to choose only one ( hopefully, I don't have to go in this dilemma ), it would be the 65.
Best,
Nicolas
65 is more dressy while 68 with strong sporty feeling.
Bold index make 68 unique
