I would like to know, on average, how long it takes for the gong to stop making that funky noise (like if the gong was loose in the case) after useage of the alarm feature?

On my MCM, this noise lasts about half hour. After that period everything gets back to normal.

As for your question, these are not only the Master Compressor Memovox, but also the Amvox I, and even the Polaris vintage or, more generally, the Memovoxes, which have this particularity.

It can last between 20 and 30 minutes, but if you want to stop it, it's quite simple.

Just change the alarm time back to 30 minutes ,and rewind it with 2 or 3 turns, and it will stop.

Here's a first picture of my JLC MCM. As well, here are my impressions so far:

It is a first for me to wear a timepiece with a black dial (I always selected a white or gray dial). I find that with its relatively simply worked black dial,  and narrower SS band, my new baby looks a little bit more classic  (nicer word than "older") but the red dots and arrows save it all by giving a more sporty accent. My MCM sits well on my wrist, thanks to this great innovative micro adjustment. I am just not sure yet on the proper way to close the clasp to ensure that I do not wear the mechanism prematurely but I very much like its contrast between the brushed and the polished SS. The alarm is great.  I like the sound of it and I am glad I do not have to rely on anything electronic anymore to wake up! A+ for visibility in all conditions WOW. I do not think that JLC has coated the saphire with anti-reflective but I did notice that it has a dome shape. It is an interesting feature as it magnifies the dial in certain angles.

Overall, I am very pleased with my MCM. I hope that it has been designed to be a solid and durable piece as I anticipate to keep my MCM for the many years to come.
