Hi all,
I just wondered why Genta hasn't contributed a design to JLC back when he designed the Nautilus, Royal Oak, Ingeniuer, etc....
If Genta did design a piece, please do correct me.
Just curious.... out of all the top watchmakers, JLC should've been one on Genta's portfolio.
Here's a few of the new generation Genta pieces.
I know its not JLC.... but if Genta did design a piece for JLC, it could've become an icon.
Enjoy.
Judging by some of his contemporary pieces like the retrograde Mickey Mouse and all.... I think he has lost his MOJO....
His Octa range is at most "interesting".... sorry to say.
But if Genta did get his MOJO back and designed a piece for JLC, it could end up looking a bit similar to the Polaris....

During the 70's JLC, popularity-wise, was not as exposed as PP and AP.
But, if you think about it from another angle....
What movement does the 1st generation Patek Nautilus with the 7mm case height have? JLC.
What movement did the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Jumbo A series have? JLC.
Judging from the fact that the top watchmakers are outsourcing their new line with JLC calibers surely makes a statement that JLC is more of a 'behind the scene' type of watchmaker. Not that Patek and AP can't manufacture a movement so thin and reliable, but the gesture that they outsourced it surely says somehting.
Not to mention, the more contemporary pieces like the Panerai Radiomir 8 Days, IWC Deep One, and of course the Audemars Piguet RO 15202.
