The first Amvox II can easily be called a " revolution watch". First and to this day unique chronograph without pusher(s).
We are in December 2005 when it was released, in three versions: Titanium, Titanium PVD, and Platinum.
I immediately fell in love with the watch, and the idea behind the watch. I just hesitated a lot between the three versions, and after a while, between two of them: The Black Concept ( PVD ) and the platinum.
The Black Concept, because it pushes the concept farther, but I feared I would get rid of a black watch.
So, I went for the platinum, which I finally received in March 2007, which was a long time, but it seems that Jaeger Lecoultre had some issues with the first pieces, and the crystal which broke. Which happened to mine, by the way.
Since Jaeger Lecoultre fixed this issue, no more problems, just pleasure...
Why the platinum version? Because of its sublime light grey dial.
It is a big and heavy watch, in platinum, which is, of course, not the case with the titanium case, but it is a super pleasant watch to live with... After more than 11 years, I am still very happy with it.
A milestone, in my Jaeger Lecoultre Collection, I must say.
I will prepare another post about my top end Jaeger Lecoultre collection, with the Reverso Septantième, Duometre à Chronographe White Gold, and Master Minute Repeater in titanium.
This Amvox II cannot compete, in terms of high horology, of course, but in terms of pleasure and originality, it is a true Jaeger Lecoultre.
Best,
Nicolas
