I had to smile when I read your post. Same thing happened to me. I have a RM 008 and the mainspring broke -- no lie, it did. The watch was out of warranty and the charge to fix it was over $5,000. To boot it took several months (like 5 or 6) to get it back. When the watch was in warranty it broke a time or two and each time had to be sent back to Switzerland and each time it took forever to get it back. I also purchased the super light tourbillon Mille made sometime ago. Both that watch and the RM008 cost about $400,000 each. That being the case, I expected good service to accompany the watch. That was wrong. I have since sold the super light one (I can't remember the RM number) and still have the RM 008, but it will be a cold day in hell before I buy another watch from Mille. In contrast, I've purchased much less expensive watches from companies like Bell & Ross or Zenith and have had excellent service.
... Wonder what took u to buy a 2nd RM tourbillon, that costs an eye, when u had such issues with the RM008. You must really really like those watches Is there a specific brand that replaced your love for RM?
I made no such experiences - but that is another story. Please RM disallow that the brand goes into the wrong direction - customer satisfaction is the basis...
however, can you kindly share whether the AD from whom you bought these ultra complications from helped you out in any way? Or were you left to your own in sending the defective items back to RM HQ? I have no connection to RM, just a fan who is starting to get more and more disturbed by the increasing number of posts detailing seemingly HUGE costs to repair AND the corresponding after-sales treatment which seems unbecoming of RM the man and the brand. Have had some problems with my RMs but they were solved satisfactorily by Boutique from which I purchased them from.
your experience. I would assume that the mainspring would have an extended warranty if it has been replace. Most companies will warranty the work they have done. Have written to RM to catch them up on the situation? I wish you the best of luck in this matter.
Oh, wow, and I just bought my very first RM. I would have hesitated if I have read this post earlier. I am very very particular about backup service, especially for such an expensive watch, and with you spending $800K and getting crappy service, this sounds very bad indeed. Surely, there must be some response from RM himself? I hope someone in the organisation reads this and get things right for you. It would be interesting to know if anyone else has a similar experience.
