Greetings!  I need some advice, as I am trying to choose one watch among three pieces.  All three are in white gold.  Royal Oak is a 40mm chrono model,  Breguet 5827, and RM 005.   I've had RM for a year now, and although it has not worked all too well, I still like the watch a lot.   Now I have an opportunity to swap it for one of the above mentioned models, which I also enjoy.   A distant member of my family(wife) is trying to help me with the decision, but it ain't working.  I need some advice from outside.  And I know what some of you are going to say -  put it on you wrist,   look into your heart.  I am doing that already.  Does it make sense to exchange RM for above mentioned AP or Breguet?   Can you really say which is a better watch?

Always difficult to say what should be Other's choice...

I'd say that you should keep your RM005, as the watch is dicontinued, and if you regret it, it will be, not impossible, but difficult to get another one...

The Breguet Marine Chrono is a very nice watch, the APP RO Chrono too, but the RM 005, is, for me, comapred to these 2 other models, the watch to keep.

Why?

Because you just said that even if you had some troubles with it, youstill like the watch...That means that you're really in love with, and that even 2 beautiful watches as the RO Chrono or the Breguet Chrono won't make you forget the RM....

I think you like its originality, its " exuberance" , its well finished movement, and this special shape of the case...

So if you sell it, I guess you would regret it, badly.

and if possible get the AP RO, as i've noticed that they pair greatly with each other

i've seen alot of collectors own both brands at the same time there is some mysterious relation that combines those two

so it will make one hell of a duo

i for one have two ROOs (RBII & SAFARI) as well as the RM010 RG simply becuase i can't let go of my ROOs and am crazy in love with my RM010 at the same time so i keep them all and wear them all

 

just enjoy it my friend  and don't have regrets

BTW the breguet 5827 is a great watch too but i prefer the RG version

you are right on.  Again, all three watches are beautiful, and getting all three would be a perfect solution to me (my wife, however disagrees).  Here is another question.  Should I listen to my wife?  Just kidding.

Just curious, what do you mean it has not worked all that well?

It always ran 15-20 sec+ a day, which bothered me to a certain extend, but not even close to consider parting with the watch.  However, after 7 months an hour hand started to move randomly.  It moved from 3 to1, then from 1 to 5 within minutes.   Minute hand still moved in the expected manner.  The watch was sent back to RM and I am still waiting to get it back.  But meanwhile the exchange opportunity came up.

These RM's look so cool but don't seem very robust. I am very close to dismissing the brand entirely.
