Richard Mille

Is the RM 003 - V2 considered to be one of RMs better watches?  I have always loved tourbillions and I am considering the purchase of one.  Or is it soon to be replaced?  Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Also, I have heard rumors of an impending price increase.  Does anyone know what the new price will be for this watch?

As far as I am aware there are no plans to stop the RM003-v2. The production numbers have been reduced as Richard Mille can only produce a limited number a year and the RM003 production is now shared with the RM015 production. The RM003 and the RM015 are basically the same movement and watch, although the design influences are different between the two. The RM003 takes it design influences from motor sport; the RM015 from the Perini Navi yachts. Both are GMT toubillons (which is a rare complication in the horology world). For sure, there are less numbers of the RM003 than the RM002 out there in the world. The RM003 case is larger/fuller over the RM002. Outside of that, there is little to choose between the RM003 and the RM002.

Some photos for you to help you decide. Ultimately, if this is the watch you want, then you should buy it. It is your money paying for it, so decide what speaks to you and then you will be happy with what you own....











Pictures of the RM003 and RM015 together so you can compare. Note the diefferences in the location of the GMT window, and the differences in the back design. Personally, I prefer the RM015, but that is MY choice and not necessarily yours. Get to see both if you can.

hi there.. happy new year everyone...

im just wondering the picturte taken of the rm003 where i can see the serial number of piece number 009 was in the site..

wondered where the picture originated from coz its my watch and its only been in for a service once.

However, with the exception of the first photo, the others are taken at Richard Mille or at AP Renaud & Papi.  There are previous posts where the same shots have been used.  I looked at the photos and cannot see where a number 9 is visible.  Which photo were you looking at?

I would say ANY of RM's "complicated" watches fits the bill, definitely the tourbillon models AND including the RM 004 split-second chrono.

 

Specifically regarding the 003-v2, I see it as a "002-v2PLUS" (GMT function).  If you travel often and/or simply like the 2nd timezone fuction, then it's suitable for you.  Personally, since I don't travel that often, I prefer the 002-v2.

I think only the size and the GMT indicator is different from the 002 V2 which was the first seriously produced tourb model for RM. The size IMHO is just right for the 002.

The bigger case size of the 003 IMHO is too big of a nod to the general trend of bigger diameter watches. I have tried both and prefer the 002, just as I prefer the 005s over the 10s. Just my own two cents
