I really love skeleton watches because...well its all before your eyes,its so enjoyable to get lost with a loupe into a different micro world and lose track of time....

I've been thinking about this since you first posted the QP. I love both watches and simply can't choose one over the other. I can't find any dealer who has either one. 

Must see tat one next time we meet up, great watch indeed!

...that in all the excitement over receiving this piece, the fact that it might qualify for description as a skeleton went completely unnoticed until mentioned recently by another Purist!

I'm not a particular fan of skeletons, only because the legibility issues.

But I could not resist the charm of my El Primero 69.

a watch with a hollowed movement which had solid plates and bridges at the starting point.

Let's have different examples:

Some of these watches (and not only yours) couldn't be considered as true skeleton watches in my mind but of course they all share in common the objective to display more. And the idea of the thread gives the opportunity to see a lot of nice watches, whatever they are true skeletons or not!

... with the La Tradition, which is of course an open dial design.

But that was the purpose of my quip: "one of these is not a skeleton." I wanted to include a discussion on what constituted a skeletonized watch, and I am very happy with the way the discussion developed. PuristS; just wind them up and off they go. ;-)

The 47100 Chrono Skeleton is unique in that it is a skeletonized Lemania movement- a rare event.  I love how the "Y" bridge is done on the movement.  The engraving is typical of the VC artisans.  I also like how the registers, in white, accentuate the look on the dial, which creates a diversion of the all skeleton look.  The case on this watch is layered, and while not unique to this watch, as several other references used this case, I enjoy the look with the pushers.  This is also a rare piece, and one that will remain in my collection forever.

I like this watch because I have both bracelet and strap; it's complicated but not too complex; it's only moderately illegible in all conditions; you can adjust the date hand in either direction with the crown; it has a nice heft to it; my loving wife bought it for me brand new for my 55th birthday.
