A question for Breitling expert.
Does the earlier Navitimer comes with a valjoux 72 movement or the more recognize venus 178 movement?
There seems to be contradicting info here.
One say venus because of the early serials number on the are while the other say these serial on the early model are actually not release to until few years later.
I'm confused.

Venus 178
The Venus 178 was used from introduction until the mid to late 60s. The Valjoux 72 was used for some years early on but made in small numbers. The Venus 178 is the most common for the ref. 806. My '64 806 has the Venus.

luckily now i have one.
from what i read the Venus 178 was the movement used, but at a certain point in time they used the Valjoux 72 for a small number of navitimers.
